I will be purchasing my tl this month, and i would like to know what members are paying especially through American Honda Finance. Thanks in advance

 

I paid 3.89% a week ago...

 

I had 3.89 originally through e-Loan and had a backup loan with a higher rate through Wachovia. The dealer would not accept e-Loan (even though the saleperson said they did and even e-Loan said they did), but when I told him I had backup financing, he asked what the rate was. When I told him 3.89, he said he'd match it, although they used SunTrust financing and not American Honda. Not sure why and I did not ask. I was happy I got the 3.89 rate.

Lesson learned: Its better to have your own financing, you have more leverage to negotiate the rate. BTW, he did ask for proof of the 3.89. Damn, should have said 2.75 or something lower. Also, since e-Loan has very low rates, you might want to apply and get approved so you have at least that rate on paper. My guess is they would rather lie and tell you they don't accept it so they have you by the short hairs. Go ahead and get approved somewhere else just in case .....

 

It was posted in another thread on this forum - Pentagon FCU offers 3.49%/60 months or shorter for those who qualify (it is easy to qualify and they do not verify the info you tell them). Based on this offer, my dealer gave me 3.39%/60.
