Roof Spoiler

I would be very interested in a roof carbon fiber. I have seen the imitation ones and I prefer a real carbon fiber roof spoiler.

For those that have the CF cover from the previous seller, would you be able to take a picture of the underside of the cover? I'm particularly interested to see how the two standoffs were done.

Any chance there's enough intrest in making a 2 gen. factory style body kit ? Front spoiler , side skirts and rear lip in carbon fiber. As hard as the factory one is to find this should be a no brainer. ANYBODY ? ? ?

Just to throw one more idea into the mix. What about a cf roof? My next door neighbor has a bmw silver with the cf roof and it looks amazing. There are a couple of cars around here with black roof's but I thing cf would look better.

That CF window spoiler is for a Volvo S60. I would need to ask the guy to see if he wants to do it as well. One thing at a time . I sent ou the OEM cover to him so he can take a closer look at it.

THANK YOU! So those two pegs look like plastic screws? Is that something that came with the kit or did you have to source it yourself? One more favor! Any close ups of those two screws (I know about the other three)? Thanks again!

Update:

OEM cover is with the molder. The mold is currently being made and I was told that we should have a prototype by next week!

BTW, does anyone know how to get a hold of Astroboy? I PMed and e-mailed him a LONG time ago but never got a reply.

PM the mods instead. You can find them at the bottom of the page in BOLD on the first page of this forum. Here are a few: trancemission, datmrman, and Ron A.

Astro (not Astroboy anymore) is the only one who handles vendor matters, so PM'ing any other mod will not help.

I will be telling that to Mike in the PM he sent me.

That's not why I told him to PM you. If someone has an issue on the forum, they should PM a mod. Then YOU can let him know the best way to deal with it. Correct? Plus, vendor means more dough for the forum's pockets. I'm sure whomever wears the "ring" can appreciate the man who kisses it right? Well, that would be Mike.

At any rate, I just thought you could do a better job of reaching Big Brother than he could. No need to get ruffled...we all on the same side.

Actually, scratch that. I checked my PM again and it was sent to "astro" on 1/7/08. I sent my PM to him again.

update 2/7/08!!!

Got pictures from the shop for the first FRP prototype. The mold looks excellent! Question for all you people. They mentioned that the engine cover looks kinda bland so they were curious if you guys want to put some mesh on the areas marked with the crosshatches. What you do think?

On a side note, I gave up trying to get in touch with Astro. Still haven't heard from him since the beginning of this thread.

LOL...did someone do an incantation and bring you back to life Mike??? I had filed you under, well..."Mike". Hahahahaha...and you know what that spells in this forum...still...I'll play along...

Do you have another cover, even if it's not an Acura engine cover, that has the mesh on it so I, and others here, can get a better idea of what you are talking about?

I would be interrested, So how bout we do a trade. You can send the carbon one out and we can ship back to you the original one so yo can make more unless it goes directly on top of the engine cover? But any ways if the price is right i might want one too.

I'm not that same "Mike", I can promise you that, so no need to play along! You can check my profile. I've been a member 4 years longer than the other guy - old school!
Here's a CF engine cover with the mesh on my car:

Looking at the TL cover, it might look a little off since it's so close to the three mounting screws and because of those shallows grooves. The mesh is to replace those three shallow grooves. I personally would leave it as is but it's up to you guys. Just need a yay or nay.

Here's a CF engine cover on my car:
i think the mesh looks good! i think it might be a better idea to maybe even have a bigger area for the mesh, so that it could dissipate more heat from the engine

Those pictures I are of the FRP prototype to check the quality of the mold. The real thing will be in CF. It will replace the OEM cover, not go on top of it. Pricing will not be any more than the previous seller. I'll push for the lowest price.

The only area that I can think of that would look decent is where those three horizontal lines are:

But then it'll interfere with the mounting foam underneath it. Not sure what's underneath the cover as I don't have a 3G TL.
