Installing ebay decklid spoiler in colder weather

I bought the spoiler from "thespoilerstore" on ebay and I FINALLY have time to install it now since midterms are over. It is about 55 degrees and cloudy outside...

...is it a good idea to install this? I mean, I'm pretty sure the 3M double-sided tape should still bond well. Most likely I'll be in a garage but I doubt it'll be any warmer in it.

Steps I intend to use:

1. Wash area.
2. Rubbing alcohol on area (let it air dry).
3. Measure, mark where spoiler goes.
4. Use included 3M tape to stick it on!
5. Admire.

Any input?

I installed my a-spec lip last year about this time I think it said that the temp should be at least 70. what I did was wait for a good sunny day let the car warm up good and kept the spoiler warm in the house. I kept running in and out doing test fits keeping the adhesive warm. It worked really well for me. no problems, oh and when I did it it was in the low 60s

I'll be doing the same thing next weekend. I'm thinking about using a hair dryer to heat up the trunk lid before installing the spoiler. Not too hot, but warmer than what our ambient temps have been.

You'll be fine. I did this exact same mod last year at about this time and it is still holding strong!

I just got mine from them and the color is off as well do you have Anthracite?
Either way I contacted them and they just refunded a part of the price and told me to get it repainted locally. Not thrilled with this outcome but it's better than nothing.Good luck.

Refunded me $30 bucks. I really wanted them to take it back and send me another one but I bet if they had sent me another one it would be the same brownish tinted version of AM just not even close. They don't paint the spoilers themselves that is done overseas according to the guy who helped me. I am hoping to get it painted for less than $50 but we will see. I'll let you know when I find some one to paint it.

This might sound strange, but...throw the tape in the microwave on 50% heat for about 20s until the tape becomes warm and very tacky...you'll be right as rain. This will cause the adhesive to fluidize and give you a nice, strong bond.

Ah, no problems! Just hit it with a heatgun or your significant other's hairdryer!
