Question insight on removing front under spoiler

i removed the under spoiler (not the front bumper and not the aspec lip) the one that is a long narrow rectangle a few feet towards the rear of the car. i removed it because it was scraping on like everything while my aspec lip wasnt even close to scraping.

does any1 have any insight on this? is it a splash guard or somthing for aerodynamics? is it important? what do you all think

Its suppose to force the air up into the engine bay or whatever to help it cool. Some other cars have it too like my friend's Civic.

I would keep it on. You gain nothing good by removing it, better to know you're scraping that instead of the front lip.

PS: From your avatar, It looks like you're missing the two ends of that piece.

I took it off. I scraped it too many times and didn't see (or understand) the 'performance increase' of it. I have the aspec kit and never scraped that.

^^You probably already lost both ends of that freakin lip, I was about to remove it since Im on a 2" drop..even if you take care of getting in and out of parkings, it gets scratch anyway....

I'll remove it when I get my car back from timing belt change!!

I almost decided to remove mine as well, just for looks without it being there. But I decided I'd rather hear that scrape as oppose to my front bumper. Which I took my two end pieces off last time I had the bumper off and never put them back on so it looks kinda goofy without them

i removed mine too. i would scrap mines everyday leaving out of the parking lot at my work. and now that i'm dropped, it would scrap even more and would probably get ripped off anyways.

Yes, that piece helps with engine cooling and also getting big a$$ splashes of water up into your engine compartment I think...
