As far as I can tell this shouldn't happen, I have an 08 TL AT and I have no problems off the line and I set off either gently or at best brisk and have never had a problem I would guess that it's a part in the tranny that controls what the car should do when it senses the gas being pressed my old 06 mazda 6 used to do this when I would do hard acc the car would lag and shutter then take off till they replaced the part I don't remember the name I'll find the service record and post the part if you like I know it's not the same car but this might help.
