Improve steering cheap and easy!
I was getting frustrated with the sluggish and difficult steering in my TL-S 08. I felt like I had to man handle it every time I needed to turn at low speeds, and I sure has hell didn't feel confident changing lanes at higher speeds.
I decided to take a trip down to Pepp boys and see if I could come up with anything to improve the feel of the steering. I was looking through the isle when I found it....It was so obvious I wonder why I hadn't thought of it before.
A steering wheel cover. I found one with a great grip, soft, and comfortable to my hands. I took my car out for a spin and wow it made a world of difference. It made the steering feel soooo much more solid.
I will definitely confirm this later when I grab the receipt, but I believe this is the one I bought.

i have a steering wheel cover, because i think the type s steering wheel is too thin, i guess it makes the wheel feel better in your hand, which may feel the steering feel better

the best thing you can do for ur steering wheel is send it to that place in texas get extra padding put in and get it two toned, but that costs 300 bux, while steering wheel cover is 20

is this guy serious? Hey guy found an awesome way to make the TL 10 times more comfortable! I went to autozone and bought a seat cover for it!

I live in North Carolina. Now that the temperatures are getting colder (~40F) at night, my car makes a "whirring" sound in tha AM when I start the car, It increases in sound when I attempt to turn the wheel. This goes away when I drive for 20 - 25 miles. But is back again after stopping for a while. Has anyone had this happen? I checked my power steering fluid and its full. Should I have the fluid replaced, or is this the start of something bigger? I have 228K on my 2004TL. It runs great.
Thanks, ampete2u

I'm thinking about doing this mod to improve the steering of my '08 TL-S. Problem is, when I go to the store, there are multiple colors and designs, and none of them have any performance comparison information. The staff haven't been helpful at all.
Does the one with the plumeria flower design sewn into the grip offer a better turning response than the ribbed pleather one?
