I'm getting a new transmission

My car has been in shop for 2 weeks now, they gave me a 07 RDX loaner, which is nice and super fast, but i miss my 04 TL nav. It all started when i was driving home from work about a month ago, and I stopped at the stop sign like usual. and then I begin driving again (just easy cruising, not going fast at all) when my car shifted from 2nd to 3rd, the entire car began to shake visiously, but then it stopped & started driving normally, BUT when it shifted from 3rd to 4th, it did it again, but just not as long as the 2nd-3rd shake. And it has continued up until 2 weeks ago when I brought it to Acura of Jackson. my wife told me it did it to her, but it would never do it for me. Anyway, they called Monday afternoon and said after talking with Acura Tech line and Acura of America, they have tried everything from changing the fluid and everything else, It's the transmission, IT IS BAD

I was like WOW, I only have 55,245 miles on my car, have took care of it like very well, but i was a little scared when the trans began the infamous whine everyone here talks about, (the dealer said it was normal for TL's, i took it under warranty)

to make a long story short, Acura of America will have agreed to pay 95% of it, and I didn't even hassle for that, they volunteered, I will be out of pocket around 200 bucks they told me. and I get a 3 year 35,000 mile warranty. yippeeee

what is acura doing to their tranny's, my 97 TL tranny was a super trooper(198,000 miles). never had any problems. It's kinda good cause i'm getting a new trans, but bad because i drive a acura, not a ford

it's too bad they don't cover the whole thing but hey- covering 95% of the cost of a "new" tranny on a vehicle out of warranty isn't too shabby. good luck.

thanks man, reading some post here about this tranny situation, I just hope the first time is good, cause some people say after the change it, the tranny makes a even worse whine than before. and they ask for another tranny to be put in
