I'm a believer GM Synchromesh!

Ok so i finally couldnt take grinding third gear anymore so i found some synchromesh at a local buick dealer today and then went and swapped out the honda junk.....I was a lil skeptical but omg i couldnt believe the instaneous difference....i drove home roughly twenty miles and i would normally grind 3 to 10 times....My car shifts like butter now with no grinds ....its pretty amazing!

No, no, no. GMSFM fluid is for manual transmissions, NOT automatics. Don't even think about using this stuff in your automatic TL.

The GM fluid is still standing on my nightstand next to my bed, with new washers. I really need to get around to this.

ya basically i first called my local cadillac dealer who directed me to my local buick dealer who had only 5 quarts sitting on the shelf....You only need three quarts....and there and $15.00 a piece...part number is #12377916 make sure its friction modified!
i think it took 2.5 quarts roughly.

I may be wrong, but I believe that AC Delco is just the rebadged Canadian version of the stuff. I did find up here that there are two types of Syncromesh. The dealer I went to had the wrong stuff (I think label didn't say Friction-Modified and it absolutely had the wrong part number).

The AC Delco part number is #10953509.

Here's the how to everyone: Looks straight forward.

I have 3 bottles of the friction modified waiting to be put in. I can't wait!

I wonder if it will work in my 3 series. I hate 2nd and 3rd gear grind. Experts please chime in.

Gentlemen;

A drain and fill takes 2.3 quarts (U.S.). That's two quarts, ten ounces rounded. Do NOT overfill.

Also, you do NOT need to remove a slew of stuff on the upper end. In fact, you don't need to remove anything at all if you have the proper tools to do the job. Not the battery or its plate, not the ribbed throttle body coupling, not the air cleaner upper housing cover.... nothing.

I was one of the members who did some extensive writeups on this procedure so you might want to search for those.
