Illuminated Door Sills

Just went to the California Auto Show at The Anaheim Convention Center, and I saw the BMW 760 LI . After Drooling over the car and taking exterior photo's, I noticed their illumincated Door Sills when I opened the door. I understand its a $120,000 car, but how much could it cost Acura to add illuminated door sills?

I took a photo to share. It looked awesome. How hard could this be for Acura to do on our door sills? Could you imagine how slick it would look! yeah, I have seen the kits you can add on, but those kits just didn't do it for me, and I know a friend who has had problems with his. We should start a thread for changes for the 2007 TL. I'd love to see this on the 07's.

Nice sills. I am about to do the same thing. I personally don't like the ones that were available in the previous group buy.

Did you use a dremel or something to cut the OEM sills?
Also, where did you get the EL strip? The largest EL strips I can find is about 0.5" and the ACURA letters are 1". However, I did find EL sheets but they are pretty expensive.

Thanks!

there was someone on ebay that was doing them custom where u send him ur sills and he sends u ones that u just easily wire and tap back into your car.

as for acura doing the door sill this is one of those things that makes the the TL affordable. even tho it may be something that could be a 200 dollar add-on acura looks at it with e sills big figures where it costs a couple million dollars to do all of the sills and set up the machines to do so

I have them. Got those on eBay.
Only problem is that the front sills light dimmer than the rear. Maybe it is because they are wired to a different electrical outlet...who knows... But it does look good
