I believe if you pull the rear armrest and open the pass through there is a cable and handle that will manually open your trunk. I remember seeing this in the manual, check it out!

Actually, I doubt the trunk release uses much current, so you could probably plug in one of those "emergency boost" things to your cigarette lighter port, turn your key to ACC, and press the button to pop the trunk.

Something like this: Link

The handle is right at the top of the passthrough when you open the little door, so it shouldn't be blocked by the amps. Pull down the arm rest, open the door, and see if you can't feel the handle.

There is a slot on the trunk lid for your hand so you can pull it down easily without messing up the paint, but the manual release handle is in the pass through, at the top of it when you pull down the arm rest and open the door.

Rather than all this conjecture, you should just go out to the car, sit in the back seat, pull down the arm rest, open the door panel, and feel up in there with your hand and you will eventually come to a handle that, when you pull it, releases the trunk lid.

Right you are. Sorry about that, but I thought you were talking about the handle to pull the lid closed, and I forgot about the one for when kids lock themselves in the trunk.

You're joking, right?

Could you tie a piece of strong string such that it's accessible through the pass-through, but operates one of the releases?

I think everyone else pretty much gave you all the different options on how to open your trunk. If your battery is dead why not change it out or put it on a battery charger?

bluenoise gave a good choice that many others may have overlooked. Why not give it a shot rather than snapping at him when he jokes around. Hes only trying to help you out.
