Identify this part?
Identify this part?
ok, so one of these little clip thingies fell out of my trunk lid. I think its causing my trunk lid to 'stick'. Any help identifying it? the Acura parts dept couldnt...

I have an 04, and I don't have anything on the metal part. The only think I have is the two trunk stoppers which are used to adjust how the trunk closes and are #5 in the picture, and the two long rectangular pieces that hold the liner on and are #25, and both of these are on the black trim liner.
The only thing I can think of is that these are new for 06 (and maybe 05) but the picture is the same one used for 04 (and maybe 05) and they haven't put a new picture in yet. I would have said someone stuck them on your car for some reason, but dmarcus48 says he has them, so they must have put them on the later models.

The "clip" or whatever it is might be in whatever parts diagram includes the inner lining for the trunk lid. Ron A's diagram above doesn't seem to include that part. It looks like it just shows the rubber gasket.
Here's the Parts List for the trunk liner. I still don't see it. I guess I'll have to stop by the dealer sometime and see what the 06 trunk lid looks like on the inside.
yeah mine was like a little clip with a small piece of thin rubber underneath it, the rubber was separate. Only function I could see would be to keep the edge of the trunk from the lip of the bumper. Oh yeah and I also do have the big rubber rectangular rubber stops.
What's #27 in the first diagram?

Leedogg,
I'd guess it might be used to secure the protective shipping material or maybe part of an option like the wing or spoiler
Are these things secured with a self adhesive backing ? From your picture they appear to be covering the trunk lid drain holes.

They're like little clips. The just slide into the holes. As far as being drain plugs, water would have to get inside the trunk lid for them to function. I don't think that's what they are, no offense. The only function I can think they would do is cushion the edge of the trunk.
