Unhappy I think my car is allergic to switchbacks :[

I am now two pairs of lights into my car and I can't get them to work the way I want/expect them to. I want my signals to light up white for parking lights and blink AMBER-WHITE-AMBER-WHITE for turn signals.

Right now they light up white, but blink AMBER-OFF-AMBER-OFF.

I've tried V-LEDs Type 2 48 LED switchbacks and Autolomination's 120 LED switchbacks.

is there something I'm missing or forgetting to do? I'm thinking I may have to either live with it or modify the lighting harness.

Has anyone had this same issue and if so what can be done about it? Thanks in advance, I'd appreciate any input on this.

That's because you need type 1 bulbs!....type 2 does white as normal and amber on turn......

Type 1 alternates white and amber when the turn signal is applied
Type 2 only the amber flashes when the turn signal is applied.

did someone mention that the type-2 bulbs blink amber-off-amber-off and the type-1 bulbs blink amber-white-amber-white?

if not, well...thats the case. you need type-1 switchbacks.

i believe the problem is because you have type-2 when you really need type-1 diabetes

Whoops, no they won't. And the bulbs you need suck from vleds.

http://autolumination.com/switchback.html

Try those ^^

You have these?

These are the Type-2's. They look to be much brighter.

I have the Type-2's. I didn't want to go with the first ones because they look less bright and they are also rated to be dimmer.

^^ I thought so, they changed the Type-1's for some reason.

That's why I said they looked like crap, the last thing you want is a dim light for a turn signal. Use the 2nd link, they have like 90 LED switchbacks lol.

I just looked at both that you posted links for. The ones from iJDMtoy do the same thing mine are currently doing and the ones from autolumination are the ones I already have. =/

The ones from Autoillumination have an option for the way they indicate. (Except the 92 LED one)

AO means AMBER-OFF-AMBER-OFF

AW means AMBER-WHITE-AMBER-WHITE

I know, but even though they are listed as AW, they still blink AO. they actually have a disclaimer saying that even though its designed as AW that they will still blink as AO in some cars. that's why I was wondering if the issue was my car or the lights.

I had mine from VLEDS for a bit over a year and they just died recently. I am now trying iIJDMTOY ones, hopefully it'll be better.

I messaged the seller (the one who wanted almost $500 for a pair of Type 1's) and he said it was a listing mistake and does indeed have Type 1 120LED (60/60) switchbacks. He gave me a link to 3157 bulbs he was selling and told me to just put in the notes exactly the type of bulb I wanted. I made sure ahead of time that he did indeed have what I wanted so i went ahead and pulled the trigger. For $55 shipped for a pair I hope they look and perform great.

Since I will have 3 different types of bulbs by next week I will post a review with pictures and hopefully video of all three and will have 3 pairs for sale. I will be selling (hopefully) 120LED Type 2 Switchbacks and 48LED Type 2 Switchbacks.
