So as some of you know, my car has been mildly damaged. Regardless, I was thinking of getting rid of the TL. I have nothing against the car but its just too big and im in no need for a FWD car because I in the process of purchasing an A4. Anyways, here is the story. I leased the car for 4 years/ 48,000 miles from a dealership in Bergen County NJ. The car is faily new, a few months old or so. My car is a brand new 05 A-spec 6spd. I want to go for the G35 coupe instead. Now, I know the G35 c lease is much cheaper than the a-spec so in the long run i will be saving money (monthly fee) but how much would i be losing or need to pay to return the leased TL? I have absolutely no intention of keeping the car so please tell me what to do or what i should expect if i want to lease the g35 c. Thanks.

oh boy, if you are trying to get out of a 4 year lease after only a couple months be prepared to get reamed.
Read your lease documents carefully. You might be forced to buy the car outright in order to get out of the lease, then sell it on your own. Probably will lose a good amount of money. Anohter option is to see if your lease is assumable by someone else, then run an ad.
Did you already get the A4? If not you can talk to the dealer about trading your TL, they dealer can probably take your car on a trade in and buy you out of the existing lease. You will still get taken to the cleaners however.

Like elsensei said, check with your lessor to see if you can transfer the lease to someone. leasetrader.com should have all the information regarding this issue. good luck.

See if the A4 or the G35 dealerships also have a Acura dealership and if they can work something out...
Or if you have the money 2 buy the A4 and G35...TAKE A HIT and get rid of the TL

Not to be an ass, but shouldn't you have thought about all this BEFORE you bought the TL?
FWIW, you will get totally screwed if you want to get out of the lease. If you end up trading it in at a dealer where you are getting a new car, they can/will roll any negative equity/remaining lease payments from your current lease into the new one. You will lose at least a few thousand on the trade.

You're going to learn a life lesson here:
1) You could keep the TL, save your money and learn a lesson about major purchase impulse buying.
2) You could dump the TL, lose the money, have the car(s) you really think you want this time, and learn a lesson about major purchase impulse buying.
I think option 1) is the prudent course myself.

You should call your bank and get the payoff number if you want to terminate the lease early. Regardless, I don't think it's a wise idea to get out of the lease only after a few minutes.
About your damage, I'd get it repaired, have the insurance pay for it, and go your merry way. You share the roadways with other drivers, some of them are dumb, some are idiots, so accidents can happen. Just drive it until the end of the lease, and get something else....

If you are interested in a BMW you can try Park Ave BMW / Acura in Maywood. That's where I went back in 2002 when I wanted to get rid of my 2002 TL-S. The negative equity that you probably have in your TL will not disappear but it can be transferred to you new lease or you can cover it with cash money. In my case I owed $29,500 for the Acura and I got $26,500 from the dealer. $3K went into the new lease ($100/month). My car was 12 month old on a 36 month lease.

My advice is to fix the taillight and live with the lease. You're not the first one to get into a lease and you won't be the last. I personally hate leases. While you have the advantage of a lower car payment, you don't own the car and if you don't return it in good shape or you are over the maximum miles at the of the lease you end up getting your feelings hurt when they tally up the bill.
I originally leased my Civic and I threw a rod three months before the lease was up. The worst possible time for your car to go out on you if you've financed it this way. It was only then that I realized my blunder from four years earlier and I decided to repair the car and refinance it so that I could pay it off. When I bought my TL, the dealership tried like mad to get me to lease it and I had to threaten to would walk out if they mentioned it to me one more time. Although I have higher payments, I like the fact that I can drive it as much as I want and I will get the title to the car when I pay it off. Do yourself a favor and stop the madness. Stick with the TL. You'll more than likely be better off!

It is highly unlikely to get out of the lease after a few months. It all depends what Acura says about it, some leasing companies give you a certain time period to play with. My only question is why an A4? They are so slow
