I think...

I think there should be an official rattle post describing the different rattles with origins of locations. Personally, I have been ignoring my rattles, but plan on getting them fixed on my next trip the dealer. The only problem is that I am unable to pinpoint all the sources of rattles. I think because we drive the same car, we most likely will have rattles in common.

I've got a nasty rattle inside my glovebox, and another in the back of the driver's seat...

... Oh wait. Those are in my '02 Montero.

Just do a search for the specific rattle. I looked up one earlier today that I'm getting fixed Saturday so I can cover my bases with the dealer. If I tell them the tweeter, they'll only look at the tweeter. If I give them options (tweeter, vent, instument panel), they'll check more than the tweeter. Funny thing about dealers, they look at what you tell them; if that's not the problem, oh well, they won't look for other possible sources in the vicinity. "Can't duplicate the problem." From various threads I've seen, I think pretty much every rattle has been discussed, and in most cases, a solution found.

If someone, except me , could come out the list of rattles and solutions. I'd really appreciate and would try to help maintain that list afterwards.

It's basically so people don't have to search and you can be lazy like me! Plus, I tried, "right side car rattle" and yeah...vague...that's pretty much how I am with most the rattles...especially some in the back.
