Hi,

500 bux maybe not be enough for a quality sound. Infiniti system's definitely have a clearen bass, but it stops there, TL ELS 5.1 Surround Sound blows it away.

Your best bet to get the most sound for $500 bux is just sound proof the car, maybe a different subwoofer with a basic amp...

I'm sure more people will chime in with the better answer. Peace and Good Luck.

Are you asking about an exhaust system?

damn, I'm an idiot, sorry...misread the thread

Take our the resonator = free

Exhaust wise, I would keep stock, just remove those, forgot what they called, little muffler on the pipe. The exhaust is pretty damn good stock.

Install a CAI system, you will be great for under $500.

I wanted a sexy G35c exhaust sound on my '05 TL. Some convinced me to go with a Magnaflow system. I purchased the mufflers/resonators and paid for the custom install (like $800 total). I was so incredibly disappointed that I can't say it enough. I ended up with an annoying bassy drone rather than a sexy exhaust note. Don't go down the Magnaflow route!

Just my $.02.

My buddy did the same thing on his CL type S, the Magnaflow is a bit ricey for an Acura. It does have a good rasp to it, but it's constant at all throttle positions whether you are accelerating mildly or aggressively.

Honestly, I think you'll be most happy with a Dynomax resonator, OEM resonators removed. Probably 100 investment and awesome sound. If you want looks as well, change out tips

I just ordered my Dynomax resonator .. I will have it installed the day or day after I get it ...

I will post up some sound clips if you're willing to wait another week or so.

I got my Dynomax resonator from Summitracing and I think it'll be around 60 - 100 to install this bad boy.

Comptech is nice, not too loud.

Dynomax, I had it for a while, then switched out for Topspeed Exhaust and then the quadback

Soundwise, the dynomax is pretty good. No drone, loud enough, although I wouldn't mind a little more umph. It takes a good 2-3 weeks for the sound to actually be throatier though.

I have the dynomax resonator and I have to admit when I first had it installed it really didnt seem like a big difference about a month later it gets a little louder and sexier. I dont regret it at all sounds awesome. I wouldnt mind getting getting the anzbo exhaust that looks alot sexier to me but I have yet to hear it in person. If you go on youtube and type in tl stage 3 exhuast you can get some sound clips of the dynomax on the computer it sounds alot louder than in person still a good choice and reasonably priced.

^^

I thought some people were having trouble with that source - late/non shipment, etc.

Dynomax 2.25" resonator is Dynomax part# 24234.

It's funny after driving the FX for almost 2 years, I can't stand that sound, so I just the idea of migrating that sound to my TLS, I will go bananas....

But I do want a slightly deeper sound, if I just remove the resonator, will I hear any difference? I know the 2G you def. heard a difference.

If you remove the resonator, then yes you will hear a difference and it shouldnt be an ugly sound.

To the OP - If you can just save up some more money for the Type-S lip and get the ATLP quad exhaust, you will get a beautiful note as well as the looks!
