I lost

to an ~2003 Subaru WRX. I talked to the driver after, he said something about stageII.

I heard him reving and then he dropped it. It took off fast. He took me hard off the line.... and kept going. I was redlining first then getting up there in second when i gave up. (not a lot of room). I knew i was going to lose. I just wanted to see how bad it would be. AWD is king for launches.

those cars put everything down off the line. On the highways i'm confident i could have taken him. I still thought it was going to be closer.

Regular WRX's only trap at ~94, but they dig well. Even stock STI's aren't all that from a roll.

ive raced my friends 04 WRX with i/dp/14lbs wheels/cobb stage 2 when i was stock from a 20-110 roll and it was dead even. then i raced an STI with exhaust/BOV/?? and a passenger from a 75-120 roll when i had intake/exhaust/plenum spacer and was also dead even. WRX's are no joke especially from a dig but they are still good till about 80-90ish mph.

We know that. There is nobody in the racing and competition section doesn't know about it. It's the gearing, son.

WRXs have pretty crappy gearing. 1st is fine, 2nd is fine, and 3rd and 4th are way too tall. There's a huge lag when you grab 3rd. The 2.5 WRXs do a little better since the have the extra mid range torque to make up the torque multiplication deficit. STIs on the otherhand far better geared. They're geared almost too deep.

I was referring to the acceleration from a dig. It is due to gearing. What the hell were you thinking.....
