Have you ever called the non emergency number to report a squad car driving recklessly? It has an impact.

But he's not putting "200 bucks" at risk by doing what he's doing. And by being a cop he's earned the right to have, at least, the benefit of the doubt that he's doing the right thing. If he's not, that's on him and he may have to face those consequences but he's earned the right by being a cop. The fact is this: Rules apply to you that do not apply to cops. That is the purpose of them. They can carry a gun and enforce the law. You cannot. And honestly, I would much rather have them unlawfully speeding and protecting us then not have them there at all. Should they not do it? Sure, of course not. But IMO the pros outweigh the cons. If you don't like it, become a cop and then you can speed whenever you want.

you've heard my opinion on cops, and yet you ask me to be one? lol
i know im not the only one that has a problem with police speeding (at unnecessary times)

yes i realize they could be going somewhere important, but how i look at it:
speeding: turn lights on
not speeding: dont care

ive seen them run red lights with their lights on then turn them off.
how do they expect me to uphold the law if i see them doing the opposite. followed a cop down the highway one time, i hit 95mph and he was still losing me.
As has been said earlier you have no idea where he was going and can assume he was speeding for a good reason since this is what they do and what they are trained for. Do some abuse that right? Absolutely. Do you have the right to judge whether or not they should be speeding? Absolutely not. If you want to judge them then become a lawyer. I would imagine after some years of maturity you will change your tune about law enforcement.

Apparently the sarcasm didn't land. Although I'm sure everyone else got it.

And stogie already thoroughly explained that sometimes speeding with lights/sirens on isn't always the best method of getting where you need to get quickly.

The main point is this: it's not your place to judge. Period. Just suck it up and thank the next cop you see for his service.

Newfrito 11 are you kidding me?! You're following the police on the road? Hitting 95mph? NOTE TO SELF: GET NEWFRITO 11 SOME FRIENDS TO OCCUPY HIS TIME.

i know its not my place to judge, ever. learned that a long time ago. actions are actions tho. i cant imagine it being easier to weave traffic and not be hit when your lights/siren are off. BTW thanks for being the only calm person left. others feel the need to get personal.

Lighten up guys!!

A little humor on the subject:

Two guys are driving through Texas when they get pulled over by a state trooper. The trooper walks up, taps on the window with his nightstick, the driver rolls down the window, and the trooper smacks him in the head with the stick.

The driver says, “Why’d you do that?

The trooper says, “You’re in Texas, son. When I pull you over, you’ll have your license ready.”

Driver says, “I’m sorry, officer, I’m not from around here.”

The trooper runs a check on the guy’s license, and he’s clean. He gives the guy his license back and walks around to the passenger side and taps on the window. The passenger rolls his window down, and the trooper smacks him with the nightstick.

The passenger says, “What’d you do that for?”

The cop says, “Just making your wishes come true.”

The passenger says, “Huh?”

The cop says, “I know that two miles down the road you’re gonna say, ‘I wish that guy would’ve tried that crap with me".

I think this thread has run its course here. It also has absolutely nothing to do with 3rd gen TLs.

i have nothing against people have input or opposition on what im saying, and what it has in common is that most of us are 3Gers (i think) but when you say something like that, all your saying is that you yourself are getting nothing out of this thread therefore you are selfish.

your assumptions are making you look like an idiot. This forum is for discussing all things related to the 3rd gen TL. If you want to talk about how you think cops are bad and shit, you need to take it over to Ramblings where you can continue to make as big of an ass of yourself as you want:

People who say they hate cops cause they get caught breaking the law are the lowest of the low in society today, these men and women are getting killed left and right just for wearing a badge that says they are sworn to protect you and your family. Grow up and admit what you did, which was break the law.
Damn haven't seen you on here in a while.

Any idiot in the market for a new Honda Civic can afford a used 3G TL. It's not a Bentley.

Had you just followed that car going 69 (the patrolman) he'd never have pulled you over going under the 5ph window. Once you are over that, you're free game. Pay the ticket and live and learn. I love our law enforcement because 95% of the time they are doing just as they did with you. Enforcing the law. Where do you live btw?
