Today i was driving on the freeway. The speed limit is 65 mph. I was following a greenish blue chevy malibu. We were both going about 69mph. So than i drove past it. The next thing i know after i glance back at my rear view mirror, the damn chevy malibu turns on its strobe lights that are hidden inside the grill. I pull over, its a damn female state trooper. She wrote me 2 tickets, 1 for speeding and another for tinted windows. She also mentioned that i had no front plate. There goes $120 for speeding and $130 for tinted windows. So my question is, could i just pay the fine for the tinted windows and keep in on or do i have to remove it? and do they check?

pretty sure if you pay the ticket for tint, they don't check. If you fight the ticket, then they will check to see if you took them off.

Don't hate the player. Hate the game bro. Under cover cops are nothing new on interstates. You were per the law speeding at 69 so in order to pass him, you had to get to close to 10 over the posted speed limit. Had you just followed that car going 69 (the patrolman) He'd never have pulled you over going under the 5ph window. Once you are over that, you're free game. Pay the ticket and live and learn. BTW, you'll be saying you love cops when they break up or do something that's within your favor so watch how you throw around the hate word. I love our law enforcement because 95% of the time they are doing just as they did with you. Enforcing the law. Where do you live btw?

I'd honestly just take the tint off. I've finally gotten the clue after two tint tickets that it's not worth the $100+ each time. I finally gotten the 35% taken off and got 50% put on. It actually doesn't look bad, classy looking.

when i get tint tickets ,this is what I do to lower or even dismiss it , I took pics of my car when it had no tint and I saved it , so when I get tickets I just take those pics in and tell the judge that I removed it , and they reduce the fine or sometimes even dismiss it completely.If you dont have pics , just look for another car with the same color as yours without tint and take pics of those windows.

THIS IS NOT LEGAL, BUT MY COP FRIEND TOLD THAT THEY DONT LOOK INTO IT IF YOU DO , AND YOU CAN DO IT MORE THAN ONE TIME , I DID IT 3 TIMES ON MY OLD CAR (USE AT YOUR OWN RISK)

Why don't you just roll all your windows down. The reason they have the tint set to a certain level is so the cops can see in your car.

You know you can usually spot the undercover cars when they are in the malibu's chargers, etc.

Can't you fight the speeding ticket since she can't tell what speed you were going?

I know you were going faster than the speed limit but doesn't she need proof (radar/laser gun) or is it her word vs your word?

Dude speeding is speeding so ur at fault in that aspect. Just get a radar detecter than it's only a tint ticket...
And yes I know there probably illegal in ur area .

Your ability to spot undercover cop cars could use a little work, that said, hitting you for going less than 10 over seems a little harsh. Doubt they would have gone after you if your car didnt look so aggressive. You should fight it in court, just tell the judge you were passing and would have slowed down afterwards. Fix your tint and if you get a good judge, they might just throw out the ticket, especially since you were barely over.

They don't need radar or laser to write you a ticket. Look up pacing. All they have to do is tail behinid you to gauge the speed, it's good enough, and legal and court. That is why all the speedos in police vehicles have calibrated and certified speedometers.

Some cops are really understanding , last week I got pulled over just for my tint (they part in a hidden driveway) and I had my license in the trunk (in my backpack),so he let me get out and go get it, I gave him my license and then registration, they walked away came back like 10 mins later with 2 tickets (one for each window) , I told him I was trying to give him my Captain PBA card, but he didn't hear me , so he was like next time I get pulled over give them the PBA card and the license at the same time, he said he wouldn't of gave me the tickets if I had gave him before -.-, he said things happen and told me have a good night.

I was watching this practically all day since it's in my neck of the woods; and to think this killer is the brother of Jeff "Lefthook" Lacy. Last week, two Miami Dade LEO's were killed by some scum bag with a murder warrant. One of the officers killed in Miami lives down the street from my parents. Very sad considering he had 3 small children. RIP to all the fallen heroes who protect us day in and day out.

getting you for speeding's ok. i don't mind getting ticketed for when i break the law. but i haven't heard of anyone getting any crap from an officer for tinted windows, that's just them being on a power trip. but i guess that varies from area to area, state to state

i always slow down whenever i see a Malibu, Charger, or Crown Vic. 9 out of 10 times its usually just a taxi haha.

also in my area, ive seen undercover Chargers in white, blue, black, silver, and green. so i usually just play it safe and slow down when i see one in any color.
