I got a Rattle-New Type
I got a Rattle. It started two weeks ago.
I don’t think anyone in the forum got this one. It sounded like a marble moving around. It seemed like it was coming from either the drivers or rear passengers door map pocket or maybe the map pocket behind the drivers seat. When I stopped the sound would move forward and when I accelerated, (medium/hard), it would move backwards. The funniest thing was when cornering, at speed, it would sound like a marble rolling about 2 feet or so, (either left or right), on the floor. IT DROVE ME NUTS!!
I took the car apart yesterday. After removing the seat I found a square box beam about 1in by 2in wide that runs from the door to the transmission tunnel, (if the tl wasn’t fwd). There is a cutout in the beam for the plastic Heat/AC vent that runs from the console to the rear passengers feet. Well, my daughters beaded necklace broke three months ago, and THREE, of the beads took 2 ½ months to make it between the plastic A/C tubing, carpet, and into this beam. I had to tape a length of ½ tubing to my vacuum to suck them out. I'm now Rattle Free!
