I got 2010 RDX as a loaner. question about mileage i can use.
Hi,
I just got 2010 RDX as a loaner. (They are fixing my rear rattle in TL-s. )
The employee told me that mileage i can use is 100 miles per day.
does it mean if I have this loaner for 3 days, I can use total 300 miles, no matter how much miles i use on one day?
I am planning to go to short trip that is around 120 miles away from my location and i wonder if they are going to charge any money for excedeeing of mileages allow on one day.
Again, i am sorry for weird quetion. lol
Thank you

Never heard of a dealer limiting the miles you put on it. Just drive it. I put 1500 miles on a TSX loaner, no body said anything to me when I returned it.

its the total days vs miles--they dont look at the miles each day!
300 for the time you have the car
and 100 miles per is only a guideline,, unless you signed a contract to that-
They figure most commutes are under that distance, if you drive 150 miles a day every day- thats life~ they deal with it
But if you had a trip planned- being 4th of july and all and they have your car-
put 500 miles on it and dont even worry about it
Seriously- thats normal for a car gone for the weekend- people go places in their acura!
They service writer said 100 miles per day to discourage trips across state lines and bringing back a brand new car with thousands of miles on it.
They resell those cars after fully writing them off on the taxes- doesnt hurt the service dept for you to enjoy yourself the same as you would in your own car
I guess thats the best policy- however you were going to use your car,, this is a replacement unit- dont cancel your plans
go enjoy- crank up the stereo- have fun- dont beat it if its new, and return it with the gas level it had if you used up a tank
Those with a car for only 1 day, dont worry about the gas

When they are out of loaners and provide you with a car from Enterprise- it comes with unlimited mileage...
you paid a lot for the car- enjoy this perk from corp!

I know at my dealership the little form we sign states that the car is for local use only. I haven't had to worry about it much since anytime I have had an Acura loaner I have only used it to commute. I know when I had a Scion, I took a loaner across the state a couple of times. I think in the 6 days I had that loaner I put over 1200 miles on it.
So it really comes down to what agreement the dealer or rental company has with you. Each dealer handles it differently as well as local laws may vary.

No, just drive it. I don't abuse my own car, I wouldn't abuse someone else's. It's given to me as a courtesy.

I've but 2-3K on loaners before in the course of a week! I doubt there is any limit on the loaner, it's just the service writer trying to keep the loaner as long as possible because dealers usually sell them off around 12-15K miles.
