I finally see the light - ZKW vs OEM lense

So I finally got my new headlights, and I have seen first hand what the difference between the crystal clear ZKW vs OEM lense is. I will post some pics once they are in the car since they are sitting on a shelf currently.

But - Here is the ZKW lense. Notice that you can see straight into the lense, and you can see the deflector clearly.

Now here is a picture of the OEM Fresnal lense. You can see that our OEM lenses are not actually crystal clear as one might have thought. The lense actually looks more like a piece of glass run through a lathe, and formed into a spherical shape.

By the way - sorry if this was a noob discovery...lol

I was excited once I finally saw for myself and was able to comprehend what exactly the ZKW swap meant besides "it will make your lights better".

I just kind of figured that it would automagically happen, and never really questioned why that was.

Hopefully I enlighten someone else with this post

Hey Kennedy - thanks for the help in answering some of my questions when I was getting this done. I didn't fully understand the benefit, and was just kind of going blind by word of mouth.

Just wanted to throw that out there.

I got them from a member on AZ for $300. I also gave him an extra $50 to install them and clear my headlights as long as he was in there. (You need to seperate the lights to install these)

I did a search on google on ZKW just to price shop and find out if this was worth it, and I came across a few threads selling the lenses. I'd expect to pay around the $300. I did find some for cheaper (don't know which site now), but since I had someone willing to install, I didn't mind throwing a little extra cash in there.
