I finally bought one!

Well I finally did it. I am the proud owner of an '04 TL in the color combo I wanted. I bought it last Saturday and broke it in with a 5 day trip down to SoCal. It's Redondo Red Pearl & Ebony with Navi/Auto. (Pics to follow soon). I got it for 34k-even plus TTL. I also had splash guards and wheel locks thrown in as well as 20% off the extended warranty and 15% off of the interior/exterior protection plan. I got 18k in trade for my S2000. I'll miss the hell out of that car, but I just needed a change of "pace" and the TL was always on my must have list. The road trip was great in the TL and the Nav came in handy a couple of times. It's easy to get caught up in the whole sound system experience while driving, but I do love it!!! I'm still learning the voice commands for the system but it's pretty easy to figure out. It looks like I'll be spending a little more time here on these boards

I would have loved to keep the S, it sure was alot of fun, but the insurance on an S2000 AND a TL was too much because I have 2 points on my record I might pick up another when my record is clean, or wait until my 40th and pick up an NSX. Another reason for trading it was that I just needed a change. I've never owned a quiet car, they've all been small and noisy. The TL is a perfect blend of sports/luxury for my taste. I thought about the IS-300 and the TSX, but they were a bit too small.

Welcome to TL ownership! You know - I was debating an S2000 and a TL. The S2000 has been my obsession for years now, but the reality was, I needed to be able to garage it and I don't have a garage, so I went with the TL. But I have been VERY pleased. Love it to death.

So what do you think of the red? I've never seen one and was wondering if it stands out a little too much? It's hard to tell without seeing one in person.

Congrats - we still find ours entertaining after 8 weeks - I wipe it down every morning - dusty, you know :P You will learn to love that Navigation display! Next - you need a Bluetooth phone - get the Sony T637.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! jrecufan, I do miss my S2000, but I am falling in love with my TL. I love the red. In a sea of silver and grey cars these days (No offense) it's nice to have a TL in a different color. On our 5 day road trip to SoCal, I counted 3 silver, 7 anthracite, 2 white, 3 black and 1 blue. No reds. In fact since February I've only seen 3 others on the road and they had parchment or camel. It does get pretty dusty though. My S2000 was Silverstone so it hid dirt and dust pretty well.
