I agree. I lived in Buffalo for 18 years. BUT, Detriot is even worse!! Even in the upscale areas of Detriot, the roads were terrible. And then you travel down 8 mile into the city, even worse! I was only there for about 6 weeks, it made the roads in East Amherst feel very smooth.

You also have to be careful on Queens Blvd and Northern Blvd, especially near the 59th St. Bridge. TripnBeats, those are the same rims I wanted to put on my Type-S WDP - what size are they? And what tires are you using? Also, what did you use for the drop? Thanks!

I feel ya, I cracked my rim last march driving through a pothole. The city denied my claim; they said they cover over 10,000 roads, it is not their responsibility to cover everything that happens... it just happens the road, Kensington road in NW suburbs of Chicago, is the border of two cities, Mount Prospect, and Arlington Heights.

I don't think a shop can fix a cracked rim, correct? There is a 3 inch crack from the front of the rim running to the center.

+2!

I was just driving there on Friday night in the rain. Jackasses put a metal plate into the pavement and there was a hidden pothole where it stepped down and met the tarmac at least 6" deep!! Cars in front of me sped through them. They must have felt that jolt through their spine! I jammed the brakes and crawled through it. My suspension still nearly bottomed out at 10mph. I screamed "OOOOOoOH!", it felt like someone rammed a fist in my stomach. My wife was freakin laughing.

The city don't give a fck what you drive over. We all gotta drive paranoid and be extra vigilant. Can't trust anybody. If you don't look out for your car, nobody else will and we pay with our wallets.

Not much better up here in Westchester, Orange, Rockland and Dutches either. I was driving in these counties this weekend. Fill the damn things in. They actually put an orange cone up on the PIP in Rockland. A CONE? Are you kidding me?

I guess they never heard of blacktop.

But, at least up here we keep the building from falling into the streets and onto the train tracks.

yea man my front right was bent twice driving on the LIE back home, for the longest time and i'm sure Blackura knows, right around exit 39, there was this, not even joking, 3-4" deep pothole, that was basically impossible to avoid cuz it was right in front of the exit ramp, and at night, forget about seeing it...

our tax dollars goto the deep pockets of nassau politicians imo

With all of the wacky weather, the roads up here are all F**CKED up.

And it ain't over yet. We must have had a half dozen thaws this year and they're talking zero degree F temps again.

Good for Maple Syrup, bad for roads.

This cone has been there for a couple weeks and its a HUGE hole. Cars that know its coming swerve into the other lane. Sorry but, someone is going to wreck over $50 worth of black top and 15 mins of time.

yea the politicians are a bunch of jerk offs.....i dont really care what party they are from they are all the same and stand for the same shit...... stealing money that we work for and then not fixing shit that has to be fixed on time(regardless of what it is) and examples are the roads in NY, they have to be replaced every 10-12 yrs these assholes are waiting 17-20 because they need to stack up a few more million in their pockets not the pockets of the contractors because good quality material like sound dampening asphalt costs big bucks......how come states that dont compare to the funds (tax $$$) of lets say NY or outside of the northeastern section of the US have roads that are replaced with the best of the best materials? I call 311 and bitch all the time and they hate me i call and call and call and call until their phones break. I complain about the same thing 400 times a day theres no other way to get bloomy to do anything else. unless u kidnap him tie him up and just step on his balls everytime he says no.

yea they are pretty much obligated because of the road conditions you have to provide a pic of the road, hole, curb whatever u hit and receipt of purchase and they take 8 weeks to send u money.

Well, in my case, I sent them pictures of my rim and tire, and pictures of the road. I also xerox'd my receipts, but they sent me a letter instead of my money =P, but it also took over 8 weeks, haha.

Well, you have to understand that politicians are humans as well and they have human desires so they use your tax money to act "in a way that violates my obligations to my family."

Then they have to make such statements as "I have disappointed and failed to live up to the standard I expected of myself,"

You should see the roads down south, no comparison. I hardly saw a pothole. 6-lane, wide, the car even rolls more quietly on the road. lol! On top of all that, hardly NO TOLLS!! Here you go one WAY on a bridge it's $4!! Ridiculous. We have become accustomed to $100 E-Z Pass bills. Construction on these bridges all day and they are screwed up all the time. And we have the worst roads in the country.

They say it's the winters?? Even up north in Toronto, the roads are WAY better!! I was amazed. Explain that! I never listened to that escuse again. It's not the winters, it's the politicians!

Really, it's only worth driving a nice car if the roads are worth it. Can't wait till I move outta here too. You can buy a 3000+ Sq.ft house for less than $1mil out there too!

i hit couple of pot holes just driving down the street from my house. FDR is the worse followed by the BQE. The LIE is somewhat better.

That's why I changed my avatar to Pothole City. Here you can't get reimbursed unless " you can prove that the city where the pothole is has been contacted about it and not done anything to fix it for 30 days". KNOCK WOOD! But I have hit some teeth rattlers and NOT bent a rim on my car. Unfortunately, on my wife's Vibe, I've bought 3 rims in 2 years.

LIE is only bad in some parts. All that construction years ago is finally finished and it was a big improvement. FDR/BQE no matter what they do it has always been crap. They need to just layer 1ft. of cement down on it or something.

When I lived in Chicago everyone complained there too but trust me, NY is worse! And they complain about their $.75 tolls. lol! My E-Z Pass (I-Pass actually) was $100. That's for the whole year, not 1 month!

And for rims, every time I wash my car I'm looking for it. It's just a matter of time for me because my wife drives the car too. She has a tendency to aim for manhole covers and gutters. That's why I didn't go for a rim more expensive than my A-specs

I have heard plenty of stories about Detroit roads, we can feel ya dragon.

Honestly, I dont think I've seen 1 pothole since I moved down here. Not even in the ghettos. lol. The most expensive toll I've seen is $1.50, and the homes, ha, my house is brand new, almost 3000 sq. ft and I barely paid 200k, and this is in a Master Planned Community, no where near any hoods. You could easily find a mansion for less then 500k here. Miss NY? Hell No.

I do wish I would have known about the city reimbursing you for damage caused by those gay-ass potholes.

I went to Bayside for a wedding last night. And as I was in line for the toll, there was a truck lit on fire on the other side. And the idiot I am, was watching it and hit a pothole "Boooom". I pulled over after crossing the bridge to check, and no surprise, a huge bubble formed on the left front tire. And was I pissed.... I just have oem rims that's already chipped and scratched. But if I had RJs like you, ooooooo... I wouldn't know what I would've done. haha Good luck man

you will be suprised how strong the ronjons are its all about hitting a pot hole at the perfect angle to do damage like me i hit a pot hole a few weeks ago and put a 5 inch crack in my stock OEM wheel... its all about where you hit the pot-hole on the rim and wow this thred is from a long time ago
