I can't believe i out smarted a cop..
ok so its 10:00 at night on a monday and im driving on interstate 66 which is in virginia. Im probably in the worst mood of my life and im in the HOV lane going like 95 miles per hour in my 04 TL 6-speed and all the cars are moving out the HOV lane cause they see me coming intill.. i get to this one jackass in a Jeep (i think it was a cherokke, too dark to tell) and he decides not to move out of my way and im already pissed out of my mind as it is.. So i flash my high beams and move to the right of him to overtake him and bam!!!! his lights turn on... i hit the brakes and slow down to about 45 miles per hour and hes still ahead of me. im driving real slow and so that he would get real far ahead but he keeps driving slow too... i change lanes a couple of times and go all the way to the lane in the far right. hes driving slow and trying to let me pass and im just following him slow. by this point we were at a construction area and there was a exit on the right and he tryed to pull over before the exit and i did too and he noticed that he had no room and that he couldnt give me a ticket there.. so he saw that i followed and decided to take the exit, thinking that i would keep following him and at the last second i changed lanes when this mofo was in the exit and i got the F!!!!! out of there... btw im only 16 so i would have lost my car from my parents and my license from the cops.. i know im an idiot and i learned my lesson..
please leave your opinion about my story and share a story about your TL if you have one, thanks.

Heck, no one under 21 should even be allowed to own a TL. My first car was an Oldsmobile Alero which was a good starter car and I admit, I drove it like a bat out of hell. But I'm 29 now and I had to work/save to finally get my TL, which I deem my "grown up, working with a lil' sumthin sumthin" vehicle. Maybe some can relate, but when these kids do stupid stuff like this in nice cars, it just makes me wanna go at it with the hands, ya know. And save the "I learned my lesson" crap, ak because thanking God in one post but using "out smarted" in your title makes you look like a complete douche. If you're doing close to 100 in HOV, scaring people, don't have the knowledge to decipher a law enforcement vehicle from a regular passenger car (which isn't hard to do but comes with time), and then add insult to injury by flashing your highs at it........................I don't know how to finish this

Shoot, Champ, you live in Houston. By the time you hit Conroe sign coming down Hwy 59, everyone's doing 80 and up. Nothing but love for Houston.
I'm the same. I used to work at the casino which is mainly filled with people who barely finished high school and I'm working there just to make some cash til something better comes along. When you hit the ladies with the "Thank you's" and "Excuse me's".....................man, draws can drop pretty quick when a man has good manners and a head on his shoulders. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending how ya look at it), my mom and two older sisters "raised me right", so my conscience and morals didn't allow me to take advantage of even half the punan I was being offered.

Did you really outsmart him?
So you're 16 and go to high school in Fairfax driving a 2004TL with brembo calipers (6 MT) and post the experience here?
Shouldn't be too hard for a cop to find you if he wants to.....

Good thing the cop was there. You never know. By being there, he may just have saved the OP's and/or someone else's life and property. And it's my guess this took place in Prince William County a few miles west of Manassas.

We can all probably relate really dumb things we've done in our past.. I know I can. When I had my '66 L34 396 Chevelle, I used to street race frequently. Most of the time, I was pretty darned careful about where I raced and under what conditions (traffic, weather, etc.). But one Sunday night, some guy wanted to get it on in Annandale, VA. So we headed out to route 66 off of 236. We waited for traffic to clear before we lined up and launched. We would run and then back off and turn off at Gallows Road (7/10ths of a mile from 236).
We made two runs and I beat him both times. When we went back to the drive-in (restaurant not a theater), he wanted to go again.. he was sure he could beat me. I told him I was not going to go faster than 80 MPH since the traffic was heavier than I liked. So out we went and off we went. At 80, I let off but he stayed in it and I told the two guys with me that he was going to say he beat me. So I nailed it again and didn't back off until I hit 132 MPH!
A Fairfax copy saw this and though he couldn't catch us (he told us this), he was able to clock us at over 110 MPH. He pulled up behind us at the Gallows Road deceleration lane and man was he hot. And were we both crapping ourselves. Anyway, after he calmed down, he said because we had not given him a load of sh--, he would see about putting in a good word for us in court.. which he did. Even though I had lost my license for 60 days the previous year, I got off with a $25 fine and court costs.
And I seriously learned my lesson. Don't race on 66 on Sunday nights in traffic (heh, heh).

I cant agree with you there. Even people with Geo Metro's can be douches on the road. I just got a 2004 TL Sept of 2009. Ive already gone 135 mph(with 5 people in the car) on it but i know were to do it. As far as getting away from the cop, you just got lucky, but props for thinking about switching lanes at last second. I would have been shitting bricks if that happened to me. I still have not been pulled over, and i'm 21.

not very smart of you to travel at 135mph with 5 people in the car. Then again, your 21 so you must be cool

I know we all have done stupid shit in our youth. Despite the OP being 16 yrs old and barely having experience on the road, eventually he'll end up like some of us cruising in the right lane at the speed limit.
The last thing I need is to damage my car. Especially when it takes me like 3 hours to wash it.

This community can be such a bunch of whiney bitches. I mean seriously, who here can actually say they've never gone 95mph on a public highway? PLEASE!!! Donw in CA, sometimes that just the rate of traffic... lol
NE-ways, I really liked the OP's story. Congrats on your "Get outta jail free" card? Lesson learned...
BTW: Yes that is a rhetorical question. I don't really care who's never gone 95 on public roads...

Its actually funner to drive in the slow lane. Theres alot more action going on, merging, crazy people who use it as the fast lane etc...
