I bought a bad DVD Audio
I don't know what I was thinking. The Frank Sinatra at the Sands seduced me. I read the cover and thought about some genius masterer delivering the ambiance of a Sintra in a club environment.
Not even a try. Horns come willy nilly from here or there or in the back. They voice is horrible. A really poor effort and not worth two bucks.
I also bought the Emily Lou Harris one. A very well done effort clear and great presentatiion. The first song, I felt all bluegrassy and into it.
Again, I don't know what I was thinking. I can't listen to 40 minutes of Emily Lou's haunting but whiney voice.
Eh, I needed to bleed $40 to teach me a lesson.

I got that one by Old Blue Eyes also. It left a lot to be desired. I also got a Beach Boys DVD that I don't think too much of. I will keep trying. I think I am going to try to look up some of the groups on the demo DVD and see if they have any complete DVD's out. I might even delve a bit into jazz and the philharmonic. The demos sounded great.

I'm with ya. That Sinatra album has lousy fidelity even by CD standards. If the DVD-audio industry doesn't get their act together, it truly will be a doomed format (as some are already predicting). Good thing our cars still play CDs!

I like the Hotel California remix; IMO, best of about 15 DVD-A's I've bought since getting the TL. But you really have to like the material to like the DVD-A difference...only someone who's heard the CD 100+ will fully appreciate nuances they never heard or felt before. Still hard to beat vinal and a good old tube amp for warmth.
