How you like THAT body shop!

I took my TL to an Acura bodyshop because I had a door ding from what seemed to happen in a parking lot. it wasn't too bad, and barely noticible, but when you could see it looked bad.

I took it to an Acura body shop, expecting at most $100 for them to get it out. This guy tells me some BS like he has to sand sand it and repaint 1/3 of that door AND repaint the entire rear door. $450. When he saw I wasn't buying it, he then suggested I call the dent guy that fixes dings and dents...Dent Monster. I gave them a call and left a message and while I was waiting for a call back, I took it to Dent Wizard across the street, they quoted $99. Which was A LOT better than $450. I considered getting it fixed at Dent Wizard but wanted to think about it. While I was going home I got a call from a guy from Dent Monster called back and said he could come to my house that day and fix it. He came later on that day and got the ding out completely, his charge... $65.

Why do body shops feel the need to try to rip people off all the time?

because 75% of the time people just say "ok"

pays a lot better than giving people fair prices.

Wouldn't it be interesting if a bodyshop charges someone hundreds of dollars for a dent THEN hires a paintless dent person to do the work instead? It makes me wonder if there are some shady shops out there who have done that.

Wow you got a great deal at $99 and even better at $65. I live in CA and the guy that came out one day charged me $125 for the first panel/door. Every additional panel/door was an extra $75. Didn't matter on how many dings, just the # of panels/doors.

I've always heard great things about Dent/Ding Removers. If there's no damage to the paint, that's the best route to go.

That would be a great deal if you had hail damage

I wouldn't doubt it one bit.
