How to tie closed?
How to tie closed?
This really stems from my wife's '02 TL, but same question/problem probably exists for our '04's.
How and where do you tie the trunk shut? - say if you were carrying something that stuck out back - lumber or whatever. My wife's '02 TL has no place to tie trunk lid shut.
Any suggestions? I was going to drill a couple holes so I could pass some rope or twine through.
Thanks!

Doesn't that bite!? I had the same problem on my 01 CL but I had the spoiler on it and tied the trunk down from there. I plan to buy a couple of hooks at the hardware store and attach one on each side of the trunk to use as hold downs. I think this will be less desturctive than drilling big holes in the trunk.

On the 04, there's a little plastic cross brace just above the license plate. I tie a piece of twine from that to the lock engagement inside the trunk. I can't say I would recommend it for long trips, and certainly don't try to tie it down tight (you might break the plastic - it's not that strong); however, it has worked for me so far whenever I need to do it.
The other thing that is a pain in the rear is that the "open trunk" diagram stays on the MID the whole time. Acura clearly doesn't want you doing this. They state in the manual not drive with the trunk open, especially using the pass through. Exhaust emissions could enter the car that way. I'm sure it won't cause problems for short trips.
