How to remove doorlocks..?

I would like to remove the door lock pins. I thought they just unscrewed? I want to replace the black ones with brushed aaluminum ones i have. How do you get the factory ones off? Im talkin about the PIN that goes up for unlock and down for lock, on the door.

I can't help you, but others have broke theirs trying to "unscrew" them. Definitely wait until someone gives you the right removal process...

I had the same idea for my TL, and while servicing my car, ACURA gave me an 04 RL with metal pins, and I love them...

I went ahead and order them, and was able to replace them on my car. Looks awsome, more luxurious than the plastic ones.
The pins have notches at the bottom to prevent them from spinning around,
you need to unscrew them until you can't anymore and then pull straight up with a swivel motion, the driver side comes out with the black security panel, and two cables : red and white to power the LED, then you have to push the pin down through the Security panel and the pin comes out from the bottom.
Installing the new one is just the reverse steps.

Because the RL pins are metal on the top and white/cream plastic at the base, I will paint the base shinny black to match the TL color, Chrome would not look the same color as the pin. When the pin is up, you can see a little bit of the base.

I'm taking pictures today, and tomorrow, and I will post them here when I'm done.
