How to program #12345 in HF

I have read the messages where people talk about programing the Bluetooth for voice mail. My question relates how to program the voicemail access password code. When I try and store a separate number in my phonebook for "password" and say #12345 followed by store, the only thing that is stored is the # sign. No following numbers are stored. Is there a way to store the numbers after the #?

I read something in the owners manual about using number during a call.
Be on the call
Press the talk button on the steering wheel. Announce "Send" then the numbers you want to use. Then you should hear the car dial the number.

It's in the manual, correct me is i'm wrong.

I haven't tried to store my voicemail code because you would have to hit the talk button and say "Send X". I figured it would take no longer to hit the talk button and say "pound, 1, 2, 3" and when I am prompted hit the talk button and say "send". So far that approach has worked well with my voice mail at home and at work. I am using a S/E T616.

At some point I may store my calling card number for long distance calls because that is a pretty long sequence.
