How to paint your brake calipers
Many of you have pm'd me regarding to painting your brake calipers based on this thread. So I've decided to copy and paste the instruction that I wrote awhile ago here.
You can pick up any brake caliper paint at your local auto store. Do not get fooled by the expensive products as they all work the same. Remember no matter how good the paint is, it'll fade over time. So pick up a package that contains brake caliper using PAINT BRUSH rather than a spray paint can. The paint brush brake caliper paint usually contain dust cleaner and some masking tape.
You do not need to remove the brake caliper from the rotors because nobody is going to see the back of the caliper. It'll be easier to do, but you can do it without removing it.
1) Jack up your vehicle 1 tire at a time IF you don't have a lift.
2) Remove the tire
3) Carefully use the masking tape and cover up the surface of the rotors where you may think the paint will get to it while brushing.
4) If the kit does not come with a masking tape. You can pick them up at Home Depot (preferably blue ones by 3M, they are less sticky and won't harm the rotors)
5) Use the dust cleaner can that came along with the kit and spray ONLY at the brake caliper (NOT the rotors)
6) Let it sit for 2~3 minutes
7) Open the paint can and stir it with the stick that came along for a good 30 seconds before applying.
8) Apply a THIN layer onto the brake caliper until all the desire surface is painted
9) Let it sit for 2~3 minutes
10) Apply another layer onto the brake caliper once more
11) Let it sit for another 2~3 minutes
12) Put the tire back on
13) Repeat step 8 thru 10 on the rest of the tires
14) Upon completion, let the vehicle sit for a good 10 hours before driving
15) Repeat step 1 thru 15 in 10~12 months or whenever the paint starts to fade.

One thing, I personally like the look of the Spray, as it turns out smoother then when you brush it on. I did the fron calipers on my Prelude that way and on my friends MP3. I didn't need to completly remove them, but I did have to take them off there perch. Once I did that, I taped and covered anything I didn't want the paint get on. I still need to do the rears of the TL, I just havent had the time to do it. Good luck with the projects, and it really is not hard at all.

I painted the calipers with black lacquor and it holds up pretty nice.
Folia Tec is the name of the brand I used.
Simply mix the two chemicals together and stir. Be sure to have the caliper clear of brake dust and dirt. Dip the paintbrush in the mixture and get to it!

where do you find the paint for them? I would also like to do this, im getting a real bad look on mines. How long do they take to dry before going out on the road? I don't have my own garage so I would have to take it in.
