how often should I do a power steering flush?

I have 06 tl with 93k miles on it. today when i got oil/transmission fluid change they told me the power steering fluid is dirty and may need a flush soon. i don't think i had it done ever since i bought it new. they quoted $123 for the job. should i get it done at the dealership or can any service shop can do this job? thanks in advance

I waited 5 1/2 yrs to do my first one. I'll probably do it every 3 yrs from here on out. No hard standard for the change interval (other than "It's dirty"). It's definitely DIY. I followed the instructions below and all is well. Bottom line is it's ok to run the power steering pump dry. The pump makes some noise, but it's ok (mine is still fine). Tell service dept to pound sand!

Edit: I asked my service dept if they flushed the PS fluid as part of the hose recall. They said nope. That's when I decided to do the PS flush myself. Some dealers flush as part of the recall, some don't...

recall instructions say to drain all fluid and replace with new, i.e a flush. they charge acura for the new fluid.

If they didn't flush it, then they didn't do the recall correctly (meaning they put the old fluid back in).
