How often do TL owners wash their car?

When it's new, you need to spread the duster on some newspaper to dry it out a little. I think it says that in the instructions. I have been using these things for years. I bought a cheap one at pepboys three years ago and it still leaves streaks! Bought a real one online and it's perfect.
BTW I wash my car at least once a week, dust it all the time. Here in NJ you have to use a carwash in the winter. Anyone know if the rails in the carwash will scratch the rims?

None of you guys use Zaino??? Simply the best polish around. A single coat will last a solid six months and multiple coats give you a crazy shine. I had about 20 coats of Z-2 on my black C5 vette when I had it and it was like looking in a mirror. Going to put a few coats on my new TL this weekend.
If you're using carnuba based wax you're wasting your time. They will last a few weeks at best. There are other waxes/polishes that will shine but they will not last like Zaino.
Also, it does wonder for wheels. Put a few good coats on and all you will need is mild soap and water to clean.

A little off topic don't ya think .. BTW Zaino isn't the end all as Sal might have you think .. Klasse will last as long if not longer. I hope a few coats = no more than 3 a day with the accellerator ..

I'll stand by my claim that Zaino is THE best in the world. Been using it on various vehicles for 8+ years. I traded my old DD Jeep 5.9 Limited (1998) on the TL and the dealer was amazed at the paint on a vehicle with 120K miles that has been through PA winters its entire life. Not one spot of surface rust anywhere. It got one coat of Z-2 twice a year that's it.

BTW my WPD has Z2 x 4, Wolfgang X 2 , Klasse X 4 and #16 x2 ... Do some experimenting .. Combinations make the WDP "Pop" .. Z2 just makes it shine ..

Just washed and conditioned my baby down yesterday. I usually wash mine once a week, but since I've just sold my house, I think only once a month. It gets pricey at the car wash.
The next question is "how often do TL owners wax their car?"
edit: Opps, I just noticed someone brought up waxing already!

My TL is park in my garage. I usually wash it when i see some dirt film on my car. Sometimes i can just use the holes and rinse it off..since i wax my car way to much (usually everytime i wash, i wax) and the dirt just sheets off. I just washed and waxed it yesterday..cause of the dirt and stuff after getting back from the pocanos for my friend wedding.

Unfortunately we don't use our garage for its purpose, but have furnished it moreso as a "sun room" (weird garage w/ ceiling to floor windows....). So my car is constantly in the weather except for while I'm at work when it's garaged.
I wash my car every week as the weather permits and wax every other; and detail the inside usually every two weeks or so (and keep up with it as needed).
Love, love, love to wash my car! WOOHOO!

I wash it as often as I can, which unfortunately is not as often as I'd like. It's covered in pollen right now because I went out of town for the weekend and had to park outdoors. Hopefully this Sunday will be a feasible time to wash and wax it. I normally do that in April but didn't have time this year.
I don't use the automatic car washes for fear of scratching up the wheels, but I just found one about 12 miles from home that has the old-fashioned type where you put in your coins and use a wand to wash the car. That will do in a pinch, especially during the winter.

Once a week, twice if I'm bored
I also use Zaino polish and waxes........nothing brings the metallic out in my SSM like Zaino does, believe me I've tried quite a few products just to remove them with clay after realizing that Zaino is 10x better.
