how much is this going to cost me?

so im doing nothing on sat so i say let me go to the wash to take all this salt off my car. so dumb guy picks up fast @ a light and just stops and i was on a patch of ice and hit him... i know it was my fault but hes still dumb to me.. but anyway i guess i need a new bumper, how much?

when i hit him i tryed turnning my car to the side so my drivers side hit his passangers side. do you think i would have been better off hitting him stright and not turnning? btw i was going like 10-15 mph.

New bumper + paint/install = $550-$650.

Since it's cracked, you'll have to get a new bumper.

Talk to Rodney, or Stillhere or anyone else on here that lives near you that's on here. I'm sure they could recommend a good place to where you could get that taken care of.

try to pick up a used bumper instead. it will most likely be cheaper. you can put on the bumper yourself. it is not much work. just a some clips and screws here and there

Be careful with buying an used front bumper. New OE bumpers are actually not that bad price wise. Used can look great, but could be hiding previous repair work underneath the paint. Front bumpers are a very common part to get repaired. I would just get a new one. You don't want them calling you saying they found filler or something, and that they need to charge you for more prep labor.

If you go to a high end, reputable shop they should match the paint with no problem at all.

Doubt you'll ever find a WDP in a yard that doesn't need work. Better off getting a new cover and having it painted to match the car. Had our WDP front bumper repainted last year, and after much spray testing, they got the color/texture to perfectly match the body, unlike the factory color that certainly doesn't match.

+1 on buying new and painting. Take it to Acura. They will match it better than anyone else. I got my entire RJ kit installed and painted for 800. It couldn't cost you more than 200 to paint a front bumper.

I'm assuming not, but did the air bag deploy?

Pearl white is always a hard color to match. The extra money a good bodyshop will charge would be worth it in this instance. My old G35 coupe needed a new front bumper. It was pearl white and the color they painted didn't match. It was so frustrating I just had to sell the car!!

doesn't thewanderer have some sort of wdp bumper up for grabs in the black market? despite, if the bumper's cracked, no reputable shop's going to be willing to "fix" that bumper. find a friend that works for the stealership - 60% employee discount FTMFW!

that is not bad at all, aslong as no screws or clips were ripped out, that can be fixed without replacing the bumper

Not quite. Fixing that size crack, in that spot is just stupid. No high end shop, or experienced tech would recommend fixing that. The bumper snaps in into place right there, along that whole edge. The bumper cover needs to be popped out from the sides, so there is quite a bit of flex right there when removing. The bumper needs to be able to go on and off without problems for service, ect. That, and the bumper would be far less durable in that spot, and slight impact or bump would just crack it again.

Honda/Acura new OEM bumpers come in black primer ready to be prepped for paint. Only parts like door handles and mirrors, ect come painted.

Call Tim-

Both my front Bumper and rear bumper has been painted by Acura and they do a shitty job, Plus the paint alone is like 650. Like Stillhere said, Tim painte my Type-s and its dead on. The bumper + paint is like $500, and installation is a DIY.

Also, I can see thats a base 07-08.... order a Type-s bumper... more agressive.

Paint

Be careful on who you select to paint your bumper. That white paint is a three-stage paint job. I had my rear bumper replaced and painted. Matched perfectly but you have to know who to go to.

Good luck.

Not that size crack, looks pretty long. If that was repaired, the next guy that removes that bumper would most likely crack it again. These bumpers are popped out along that whole edge. If the owner is picky about their car, a good shop would push toward replacing. There are a few good plastic repair products available, but the part is never the same, durability wise. It's obvious when you see how delicate the part is handled after plastic repair and paint.

Incorrect, not all pearls are 3 stage, plenty are 2 stage base/clear. Take NBP for example, it's base/clear.

Would tend to agree with you fully other than business and insurance is involved. They actually make more money as a shop repairing what they can rather than replacing and do it cheaper than replacing...so the insurance company is all on board with it usually. Its a truely screwed up thing.

Crazy...I quoted your response and it only grabbed half of it...and the wrong half! Sorry....lol.

for NPB and wdp Ive seen it done....its 3 stage paint...... OEM pearls are 3 stage I odnt know about house of color or anything like that i know spies n kecker n ppg require 3 paint stages with each stage drying inbetween. the guy at my body shop explains it all to me and its not the front counter guy.... its the guy who paints and blends and does the work....they let me hang out n watch how everything's done at the shop because the owner is a good friend of mine and when im bored and have nothing to do at my shop or im waiting for materials to dry.... im over there because they are literally next door.

07 and up are totally revamped bumpers... the front ones are actually 3 inches longer to accommodate some of the newer parts for the cars like the newer grill the fog lights and the powersteering cooling components for the front. the rear its exhausts n the little grill on the bottom in the middle.....in the chinese version of the car the grill in the back is replaced with the backup lights and a reflector
