So is that 35w the ballast or the bulb brightness? I know the TL requires 35w bulbs.

Don't Audi's use 50w ballasts?

Do higher watt balasts = more light output?

yes higher wattage ballasts will output more light with higher wattage HID bulbs. almost all standard HID cars have 35w bulbs abd ballasts. the only 50W ones i have seen are on aftermarket setups.
