How many like the design of the the accelerator?

I personally prefer the top hinge (or whatever you call the traditional style) gas pedal... not a super big fan of this bottom hinge dealie... it seems like I have to cause a lot of gas pedal travel before I really start feeling the TL move... I don't like this ...

It has taken me two months to get use to it. I will say on a long trip, (1800 miles) the bottom hinged is much more comfortable. But I do wish the spring was not so tight. Need to push too hard.

I like it! My commute is often 2+ hours, and the pedal is quite comfortable.

BMWs are the same. I've driven E36/E46 M3s so I'm used to it. Although I prefer stepping on the pedal near the bottom.

I like the pedal being hinged from the bottom. But, I actually was thinking that the resistance should be greater, I find that the spring is a bit too light for my tastes.

So far so good. You will get used to. Acura says lots of sporty cars having this kind of pedal.

I like the feel. Besides, if it gets tiring on long commutes, switch on the cruise control.

It was strange at first, but after a week or so I got used to it and now I don't even think about it.

Reminds me of when I was racing go-karts and formula 2000s. I like it a lot.

Ditto. I like it, too. I think the pedal moves with your foot better with this set up. With the top hinge, if you leave your heel planted, as you depress the accelerator, the pedal has to pivot a lot more, or else it slips under your foot. When the pedal pivots around the same place as your foot, it seems to be a better match.

I like top hinged clutches and brakes, but botton hinged throttle. They botton hinged throttle tends to be lower and with the position I sit in during long trips it's more confortable during those times I can't use cruise control.

Bottom hinged is just more natural. Just sit in your office chair and pretend you're driving. Most of the time you'll be planting the heel of your right foot on the ground and pivot your foot on that point. The bottom hinged throttle fits this motion just perfectly.

I was trying to take a look at my pedal, but its too hard to see it. It spends too much time shoved all the way to the floor under my right foot!

I don't like it because you can't get a floor mat underneath it to collect salt, snow and mud.

I liked the bttom hinged better. Aligns very naturally with the movements of the foot.

Ditto. This does bother me sometimes. That's the most dirtiest place beneath my floor mat.

I have to agree there. The floor directly around the base of the trottle is very very dirty now. The winter mat is not able to get underneath to catch the salt.

I was very pleased to see a bottom hinged pedal. The brake and accelerator pedal configuration on the manual transmission is excellent.
