How many 6Spd owners have the vibration problem?

Hi All,

I want to beat on Acura with some data on the Vibration problem.

I own a WDP 6spd/NAVI and I have the known vibration issue. The only difference I seem to have is I own a 6spd. I'm wondering if anyone else is having the issue on the 6spd. The facts about my issue are the following. The problem occurs anywhere between 50 and at least 120mph (I wanted to see if the problem occurred at higher speeds). The vibration seems to be the worst between 75-80. It doesn’t seem to matter what gear I'm in.

I have had the car in twice for this issue.
The first time the dealer found one wheel out of balance. When I drove home the problem was much worse.

The second time I took the car in for this issue. The dealer did a road force balance. It took them 5 hours to perform this test. I do not know the results of this test they gave me the car back and did not tell me the results. The problem still exists.

I am taking the car in on Friday for this issue for the third time.

I want to find out if anyone else is having this issue on the 6spd. I plan on pushing the Lemon Law next because this will be the third attempt at fixing the issue.

One last thought on the vibration issue, I know some have resolved the issue by purchasing new tires. If we don't hold Acura accountable they won't address the issue.

Please give me your thoughts.

I have 6 speed , 1350 miles, no vibration, have some "flat spotting but goes away quickly once under way. It's not a problem I would consider changing tires for . But if it becomes worse I would replace with Falkin Ziek. Rated #1 by consumer reports.
Sorry for your problem, keep us posted

I have had my six speed for a little over a week and 1000 miles.

No vibration problems.

The car was delivered with Blizzak LM22s.

I think what you are referring to as the vibration issue is actually two or more separate issues.

The automatic transmission programming apparently shifts to 5th gear at 50 mph, dropping the engine to 1500 rpm and causing vibrations that are usually relatively minor but reportedly more problematic in a few cars.

Another problem is the reported Turanza EL42 flat spotting and resulting vibration. That should be an easy fix with a new set of tires.

If you are running EL42s, I would look there first.

I have the EL42. If I am forced to replace them I'm going with Dunlop SP9090's

I had the car in for the vibration today. I actually made some head way with the service manager. I had him drive the car with me today and he could duplicate the issue. he wants to replace all of the tires and see if this resolves the issue. The only issue is he is going to discuss it with the tech people first. I'm on hold until then.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
