How fast have you had your TL ?

Just wondering how fast you have had your TL up to??....I only have 500 miles on mine and took it up to 120 mph on a flat deserted road with perfect pavement....It was still pulling and was very stable at that speed...I am stock and staying that way...what is the top speed?

120 on a car with only 500 miles??? That's a great way to break in your new engine...

I thought 500 miles was the break-in period? I opened my car up after I hit the 500 mark. I only got my car upto around 110.

Having no front license plate is perfectly normal here. However speeding is not. They use laser in city. Rural aeras are covered with K-band. I have taken mine to 100 once

I got some real bloody car accident pics in my computer, if u see it, u will throw up first, and then, u won't speeding in the rest of ur life any more, but consider so many teens here, I m afraid their parents will complain about those 18+ pics (no, 25+ ) make their kids sick... so ... drive safe, or ...

Pics of said bloody pictures? I promise I won't tell my parents on you.

I've seen some REALLY bad ones. It will take a lot for me to puke. I've still topped my car out a couple of times after seeing all those pictures. In most cases, it's people pushing it beyond their limits and those of their cars. As long as you use your head and keep other variables to a relatively safe level, it can be a fun time.

As for the Ram SRT-10 guy... I just hope you have some suspension and aerodynamic modifications. I've gone plenty fast in my friend's 500+ hp supercharged Silverado SS and evasive maneuvers are NOT fun in a truck at high speeds. Still, props for having a beast.

Sorry about my post to the dickhead that first responded to this thread....I really only wanted to know what the stock car is capable of....

As for my SRT-10 here is a link to an article in this months Car and Driver on the truck....the only difference is Hennessey did the stroker package on the motor...this will push the 800 to just a little over 1000 hp....I have pics but not sure how to load them...Never used a host before....here is the link..

Check out
Photobucket for a free and easy way to host pictures.

I think I went 115-120 once when I was being chased by a carload of hooligans after I brighted them with my HIDs. It just wanted to keep going faster and it was quite stable, but it was still a scary experience.

I don't think "beast" does that truck justice...that thing is awesome!!

Had the TL up to 110 once...would love to go faster, but the fear of tickets prevents me...the financial impact of tickets is ridiculous...it makes already overpriced insurance even more insane.

check out rotten.com sometime - they have some real nasty ones.

Any pics of nasty wrecks Mio - please PM me - I could save them and show them to my son when he is old enough to drive.

A guy at work about 5 years ago showed me one on rotten.com from a motorcycle accident... That affected me for a few months... Made me want to boot everytime I thought of it....

I'll NEVER go to that site again... Some of the stuff there makes "Faces of Death" seem pretty mainstream.

Oh, and to keep on topic, about 115 has been my max on the TL.. I think the 3G's are good for somewhere in the mid/high 140's (based on other threads).. not taking mine that high!

The first week I had the TL, I went:
142 on George Bush Frwy.
115 on Central Expwy. for about 10 minutes... I don't know how the Richardson Police didn't nab me considering they've got a cop hiding every 1/2 mile. Guess I was lucky.. Either way, I'm done speeding, I'd like to live to see my next birthday...

150 mph... I-20 West between Abliene and Lubbock... Very flat, straight and deserted... Those of you who have driven it, know what I'm talkin about..... Was very impressed with how it felt at 150, it was like driving on glass....

I did 137 in the Jaguar once, but because of recent tickets on the motorcycle,
the top speed on the TL has been a real short burst to 100 mph.
I am sure the top speed is over 140..

I have a good friend that is a state trooper in fla....I asked him about doing the same thing, and he said we would have to cut it off around 120...was going to do it, but i really didn't want to get up at 3am and try it.....BTW were u able to keep up? The trooper that I know drives a Camaro, so I doubt I could even keep up.
