to get max accelleration. with VSA on, the ecu will back off the power if it detects wheelspin (easy to do with these cars)

so do manual transmissions also have these problems (clutch wear, excessive heat, etc...), or its just an auto curse?

I have a question... so lets say I'm in D and cruising along the highway at 60. Some guy decides he wants to roll with me. Now I know our 3Gs perform the best in 2nd and 3rd so how do you get down to 2nd when the car is in 5th? D->SS and then just keep downshifting? Constant pressure on the throttle to maintain speed?

shifting down to 2nd gear at 60MPH might be somewhat pointless, because your going to shift into 3rd gear like a second later. but i would say, just leave it in Drive and give it full throttle. when you give it full throttle the car downshifts to the lowest gear automatically. im not an expert, but thats just what i would do.

Yes cause that's a realistic option for most.

SS shifts take so long -- almost a second after you shift... gimmicky!

As for VSA, the steering certainly feels better when VSA is off, and the car does seem a bit more fun to drive.

I don't know about you, but i race my car a lot and wheelspin is not as easy to do on these cars.. the lack of torque doesn't make the wheels spin that easily...

unless it's a 6spd.
