How do you remove passenger seat?
Anyone have the proceedure to take out the passenger seat from an '05 TL? I got to the point that I had to disconnect the seat belt connection which was behind the plastic cover. I was reluctant to go further because I couldnt figure out how to get the knobs for the seat controls off. I didnt want to pull and break them...anyways. thanks for the help....
I don't think it's in the garage (yet, but I will put it in) so here's the link to the thread.

I appreciate the quick replies. I did see that post but that is for the drivers seat which does not have the seat belt connected to it. The passenger seat has the seat belt connected to it near the bottom and is different to remove.

to remove the plastic you have to unbolt the 4 bolts first that holds the seat to the body of the car, after that you'll see there are a few philips head screws holding that plastic trim to the seat

There is a lot more to removing the seats than just taking off 4 bolts, such as air bag cautions, torque cautions, etc. This is one area where you want to do it right.

being too cautious is also dangerous at times.
Just to clarify: I did take out the 4 bolts and connectors. The problem is that the seat belt is bolted to the side of the seat and to get to the bolt for removal you need to take off the plastic around the seat. The seat controls are outside the plastic and dont seem to just pull off so before I did anything stupid I thought I would ask. Could be simple but better safe than sorry. Not to complain but I have worked on many cars including my FD3 which is a PITA to do...
Just to follow up. I got the repair manual from Helms and to remove the seatbelt connection you need to press in a metal tab. Right now my seat is in a million pieces being cleaned (dog). Hog rings all over the place. Hopefully the rebuild will be painless.
Update: had to purchase a new seat cover, (still love the dog)...Found it on line for $200 which is crazy but not as crazy as my local dealer who want $275! Installation to follow in a couple days...
