How do you remove passenger seat?

Anyone have the proceedure to take out the passenger seat from an '05 TL? I got to the point that I had to disconnect the seat belt connection which was behind the plastic cover. I was reluctant to go further because I couldnt figure out how to get the knobs for the seat controls off. I didnt want to pull and break them...anyways. thanks for the help....

Its in the garage. There is a scan of a manual page in a suspension DIY guide. I found a thread once that had color pictures, but I can't find it anymore.

I don't think it's in the garage (yet, but I will put it in) so here's the link to the thread.

I appreciate the quick replies. I did see that post but that is for the drivers seat which does not have the seat belt connected to it. The passenger seat has the seat belt connected to it near the bottom and is different to remove.

Sorry about that. They changed the mounting for 05 and I only have the 04 service manual.

to remove the plastic you have to unbolt the 4 bolts first that holds the seat to the body of the car, after that you'll see there are a few philips head screws holding that plastic trim to the seat

no offense, but if you need a manual to remove the seat you shouldn't be touching your car

the seat itself it held to the chasis by 4 bolts at each corner of the seat rails

Some people like to be careful and do the job right, in case there is something they might need to know that is in the manual but is not obvious. No need to get on his case just because he wants more knowledge.

There is a lot more to removing the seats than just taking off 4 bolts, such as air bag cautions, torque cautions, etc. This is one area where you want to do it right.

i've taken seats out of plenty of cars including this one, yeah there are a few connectors under the seat (power motor, and airbag) it's as simple as unclipping the connectors, and removing the 4 bolts.

being too cautious is also dangerous at times.

Just to clarify: I did take out the 4 bolts and connectors. The problem is that the seat belt is bolted to the side of the seat and to get to the bolt for removal you need to take off the plastic around the seat. The seat controls are outside the plastic and dont seem to just pull off so before I did anything stupid I thought I would ask. Could be simple but better safe than sorry. Not to complain but I have worked on many cars including my FD3 which is a PITA to do...

being too rude is also dangerous at times. But, unfortunately, the interent makes it easy to be rude (out of arms reach so to speak).

Just to follow up. I got the repair manual from Helms and to remove the seatbelt connection you need to press in a metal tab. Right now my seat is in a million pieces being cleaned (dog). Hog rings all over the place. Hopefully the rebuild will be painless.
