How Do You Drive Your TL ?

Ok my girl is going on 2 weeks now and I still haven't found a steady way to ride her. I love (rappin' fresh princes' "summertime" ) goin' 2 miles an hour so everybody see you ( ) but then agin being that she so fast I cant help takin off.
I dont know what to do so for the sake of conversation how do you drive your TL? Are you a speed demon or are you driving miss daisy?

A little bit of both, depends when I see a honda with exhaust I can't help but dropping down a gear to let them know what's up.

But in the city I like taking care of her that is until I want to impress someone.

Talking Hands on wheel, butt in driver's seat with right foot on gas...

...sorry, had to interject that to get it out of my system...

Most of the time, I drive like Miss Daisy (or her driver as portrayed by Morgan Freeman, anyway) due to a ticket avoidance complex, excessive traffic in LA area and desire to exceed 20 mpg. However, the urge to move quickly is really strong, especially since the TL can accelerate pretty effortlessly, so occasionally the speedo needle bounces well past 80 mph+ in a short spurt before reason takes hold and right foot lifts...

Yeah I also have the ticket avoidance complex, haha. Yeah whenever I'm in the mood for 25mpg+ I drive very very slow.

I try to drive normal most of the time. Like others, I can't help to do a little spirited driving. Every now and again, I get other cars who likes to challenge me though.

I'm trying to maximize lifespan and gas mileage.

I'm always, always easy on the clutch.

I really like to hit VTEC... just like when I had my RSX Type S. I had a half take yesterday and now I'm down to a 1/4 tank due to my urge to redline...

Driving my brother to JFK airport was tons of fun, I average 22mpg, I tried to keep it under 90mph but I did a bit of weaving in and out of traffic and I made a few people say "wow!"

I dont really acelerate fast I tend to go with traffic. However I usally pull in front of all the traffic because I do like to go well above the limit. Also as far as driving I dont use my turn singals in the turn lane I think thats such a waste like theres huge arrows on the ground I get it. Oh I also try to start braking far back from the red light as to not wear my brakes as fast but as well all know this cant always be done.

I have had mine for almost 2 months now, and I have yet to floor it. Even putting the accelerator half way down gets this car moving faster than my modded e36 ever did.

But I have really babied this car. I love it. I want to take really good care of it. I have washed it more in 2 months than I probably have all of my preceeding cars combined, including my bimmer.

lol, i really really try to be easy on my car, but damn it goes like it's got a rocket up it's ass and i can't help flooring the shit out of it most of the time, especially the past 2 months, wow my car doesn't have an accelerator it has an on/off switch instead. b4 i used to get 18mpg on average, now i get 15!!! i know i gotta lay off the throttle but i can't help burning rubber off the light and getting back at anyone that passes me and think they can get away with it. i got 10k on my car now and the tires are kinda worn, and i hope the clutch is not worn too bad, because i said my clutch beating days are over since i burned one in my camry b4 and don't wanna do that again, especially not in my 6mt TL, where it would cost thousands to replace.

holy SHHHHHHHH ....now that's something....was it auto, cuz if it was stick you must of changed the clutch at every 500 miles until you got to the brakes hhaahah

but seriously, how is that even possible? are you sure you really needed to change them or did u just hear squiking and said fuck it, change them....cuz that's really crazy...

i try to take it easy on my brakes, cuz i don't wanna warp them....so i usually coast some speed down, but sometimes i go wild and i take it out on my brakes, my poor brembos start smoking and smelling like burnt ferodo.

yea, i agree but try explaining that to the cop, lol....and also it depends on the intersection but sometimes to someone else it might look like a straight line and pop out in front of you...(on a 4 way stop)...btw it's not for you to get it's a turning lane, it's for the others around you, if you want to turn ofcourse you get it.

finally, what is it really a waste of? electricity? bulb life? light????? lol, come on, it's not really a waste of anything much at all.

yea, very true...idk what to say to that really. lol

it's not that i want to really, but as long as i don't hit anything or anything hits me, i know the car would be fine because from my experience with these cars, they are bulletproof mechanically.....they don't break...all you'd get is break wear and tires, and it u are a 6mt driver, clutch......and i kno it's not good but it is good to know our cars can handle and are strong enough for harsh driving.

Signaling is very important, especially for people on motocycles that you may not see. Motorcycles are often difficult see so if you signal, you warn them to slow down.

To the people who have commented about weaving in and out of traffic and driving so others say, "Wow, a TL can do that"? I doubt you are really getting the effect you desire. More likely you're causing a lot of consternation and disgust. The other day I almost swore off driving forever. One car in front of me was weaving dangerously through traffic, another was cutting senselessly from lane to lane, the woman immediately in front of me was adjusting her pony tail with both hands - no one was steering- and the person next to me was on a cell phone. It was a frightening scene out of a bad dream.

Oh I never do ridiculous manuvers like cutting off other drivers or squeezing my car right in front of someone else or tailing someone, I just floor in when I see an open space and blow by people, that's what I mean.

Also sometimes I'm a little fearless to go fast in tight spaces, for example G. W. Bridge in NY.

The bad driving is only when I see rice or I'm with others, otherwise I drive like I'm 40.

If you must get your kicks out driving fast and crazy at least pick an open road and during 1 am 3am 4 am and do it with some common sense.
