I'm replacing my cv axles but the passenger side is really stuck I've tried a couple things but still can't get it out. I've seen some people say they removed their half shaft and the axle was easier to remove. I can't find anywhere online that says how to remove the half axle. Please help thank you

 

If it's never been off before, the 3 bolts holding the heat shield on will be an absolute b*tch, rusted to shit piles of rounded off rusted heads of bolts.. Once that heat shield is off and thrown in the garbage, 3 more 14mm bolts hold the half-shaft into the engine block. Then the half-shaft simply wiggles out. You might need some additional leverage via pry-bar, but doubtful .

Where is it stuck? Between the CV and solid axle halves? It should separate if you reach it with some pry bar and hit with the hammer. Never had trouble with those. Toyota right half shaft (like in siennas) is SO MUCH WORSE.

 

Use a pry bar against the back of the axle where it meets into the half shaft. It will take some force to get it out while leaving the half shaft in place.

 

Is there and after market half shaft replacement? I can only find the bearing.
