watch out when u try peeling it. if u bring a fingernail or any object within 500 feet of the tl's paint it'll scratch. i swear the paint will scratch if u blow on it haha.
At least the TL's sheet metal is a lot heavier than that on my Dodge Ram pickup. I swear if you stare hard enough at the truck you'll leave two dents in it.

So true. The bodyshop that just did the repaint on my car said the paint is incredibly thin on these cars. My black TL looked like it was gray in the front from all of the chips.
Black cars have the thinest application of paint applied. White the most. At least at GM plants this is true, so I assume it holds true throughout the industry.

That's really good to know! Now it makes sense why my TL is so much worse than a friend's TL with about the same mileage.
I hope its tape.. i did try to remove it from one side, but it has some kind of factory coating.. tomorrow morning i will take it to body shop and see what the guy has to say...
I was looking some pictures in picture threads and not a single car has that ugly sticker....

It could be paint or a adhesive decal, the logo is definitely a decal. The eraser wheels (pic'd above) work great, and fast too on the decal pin strips.
Paint is going to be tricky to remove. A strong solvent and elbow grease, or wet sanding will be needed.
Not only is the base thin, but the clear is thin too. Honda paint is really not all that great from the factory.

seems like a tape to me. it's easy, leave your car outside on sunny day for few hours and peel it off slowly and carefully, if you living in an area with cold weather, use heat gun or blow dryer and heat up the surface and slowly peel it off. After you get it off, use a goo gone to clean up the surface when it was taped. Wash your car and use meguiar's 3 steps wax it up you're good to go.
P.S. If it's painted, there's no way you can take them off unless you professionally paint top of that but I doubt you want to do that.
Good luck.

If the pinstripe tape was properly laid, there is probably a clear coat on top of the tape's edges-- that may be the "coating" you're feeling. Back in the day, I put a dab of clear enamel over the front and rear edges of the pinstripe tape to keep it from lifting.
If you haven't dealt with it before, have a body shop look at it and get an estimate for removal.

Not quite. I've removed painted strips with both methods I mentioned above. One car sat in the sun for a few days after getting striped the wrong color. I used a strong solvent and elbow grease. Other cars I have used wet sanding, very, very carefully and finessed the area out. The trick is to knock down the clear just a tiny bit, so you don't have a flat profile down the side if the car. Wet sanding is not ideal but it does get the job done. Honda clear is already thin so it does takes finesse work and special small blocks so you hit just the pin strip.
i remember back in 89, i bought a honda crx si, it was bright yellow with a black pinstripe on it....before i drove it off the lot i stood out front of the dealership and peeled it off and threw it away....that pinstripe you have is not a painted pinstripe, that is your run of the mill add dealer add on and can be peeled right off...since its winter, use a hair dryer and heat it up in small spots and start peeling it off slowly...it will come off....
Its most likely stickers, because you got that A logo there too, no one is going to paint that, too much work. I would just use a hairdryer and try peeling. Goo Gone afterwards to clean up the residue and then throw some cleaner wax to finish it off. Done deal.
