from what I have picked up at this forum forced induction(turbo, super) can be used, but you need water jets too cause the compression ratio is already high, knocking isnt good. I dont want to drag this thread in the wrong direction, but how do water sprayers help?

I have heard talk of it, I am not sure of it at the current time. start with exaust and intake first, less in depth and its a good start.

Why do you need more HP? It's FWD. Do you have 6MT?

No, there are currently no superchargers or turbos available for the TL.

Comptech is working on a Suprecharger but is having some problems because of the TLs OBD II... Its not adding much power... or they were a few weeks ago. anyone know if they made progress?

About what you can do right now includes exhaust, intake and I guess you could add some naaaws if you wanted to... but i personally wouldn't nos.

But since you said 'i want it to be more of an eye opener' are you just looking for aesthetics? like body kits and stuff like that? Cuz if you were really 'all about moddin' then I'd think you'd already know a lot about that....

If your new to moddin, great! Its a fun thing to do for lots of cars. Search and learn. Your not going to get all your answers from forums and lots of times.. people just sorta say what they think and dont list facts. look for sites that have good info and only ask when you need some clarification about somethin and cant find answers. Anways.... thats what I have learned to get the most reliable information and learn the most. Just my

Info about the supercharger:
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ght=tl+exhaust

and there are some pics floating around of some exhausts too. just search.

A little bit off topic here, but I guess I have been wondering this for a little while now...

Not sure if you are really are 18 or not, but how do you afford paying for your car and insurance?

Did you get a really sweet job that pays well? Do your parents help out? Just a bit curious...

Being serious here...If you don't feel comfortable repying, that is cool as well...

I am 18 and got an 04 as well. Insurance is on my mothers name. It would be rediculous ot put it on my own. As for payments, my father bought it for me on my 18th birthday - a present for my birthday, graduation of highschool with 4.0gpa, and admission into nyu. I never asked him to buy me a car, since i was planning to buy a car for about 5k with my own money. He woke me up one day and told me i have to go somewhere with him, had no idea what was coming. We went in the dealer, and drove off with the car the same day. Lucky - yes indeed. We treat each other well and have an excellent relationship, he knows i will be the one buying him the stuff when hes old.

Wow that is lucky. Awesome even. I can see the onslaught of jealous 30-somethin-mid-level-execs who just forked a chunck of change for thier TL's getting mad now.. lol.

I am somewhat jealous myself though... being 19.

hell.. i'm only 20 and i'm jealous! lol... i pay up the ass for my TL (500 a month for lease) and insurance (2400 for 6 months)... lol
going to school at same time too... pay for that as well (1600 per quarter)

My job helps.... helps ALOT!
Hard money earned but in the end.. all worth it.
there is nothing like the joy of paying for your own enjoyment... there is more pride...

but i do totally respect Dr. Murdoch and his father.. sounds like they have a GREAT relationship and sounds like he is a very responsible individual.
I wish i had a better relationship with my father

Vsokolov Navi mod (if you have navi)
Supercomputers door sill
Ultimatepedals.com
Ron Jon wheels & body kit
A-Spec (Suspension, bodykit, spoilers)
Tein Suspension
Eibach Spring
Wheels

For now, those are the mods i can think of... I believe there's more mods in the 3G garage that's not too expensive: Molding on the front bottom (suddenly go blank and forget what's it's called), lightings mod (door, interior, backup light, etc)

I hate it when people ask these questions. It's none of your business where/how he gets his money and/or how he pays for his car/insurance.

I'm assuming you are refering to water injection? Basically you replace your water pump with a VERY high volume pump the is capable of high flow rates. A company called Aquamist makes water injection "kits" or systems.

Read up on water injection here: http://www.rallycars.com/Cars/WaterInjection.html

But, a water injection system is not required by any stretch in our cars.

To the best of my knowledge, no one on the forum has done any FI on a 3rd gen TL.

On the 2nd Gen TL/CL turbo guys push about 5-6psi. Superchargers push anywhere from 4psi to 10psi.

There was an air to water intercooler designed for the supercharger that is no longer in production. This used an additional water pump used to pump coolant from a reservoir through heat exchangers and then through the intercooler. You can not run more than 7psi or so without the intercooler on the supercharged motors.

Yes. It is currently out of production unless 5+ buyers get together at the same time and place the order. Before he was doing them 2 at a time, but now that has been raised to 5. Scalbert really doesn't make much money off the IC kit and he's got his hands full with the twins and with work. It takes ALOT of time to make the wiring harnesses BY HAND. He did an amazing job on my kit. I can't wait to install it.

Intercooler = IC

Intercooling means cooling the compressed air prior to it entering the intake manifold via an air to air intercooler or air to water intercooler.

I'm sure I'll get all kinds of flack and flame for this but unless you contemplate drag racing (and probably it probably holds for that too), the most bang-for-the-buck in terms of performance is #1 performance driving school followed by #2 better tires. Unless all you are interested is show...these two items will do more for your vehicles performance than anything else (including turbo/super changer and exhaust mods) and that's where you should spend your hard earned cash. But hey...it's your money...

I don't think driving school is needed to get the TL down the 1320'. Practice? Yes. Formal training? No.
