I would agree with that. For a qtr mile, practice is necessary not a driving school.

However, if you were trying to autocross, then driving school would be necessary. Sometimes, even if you don't plan to ever "track" your car, there are plenty of people that are not aware of a vehicle's dynamics and a performance driving school can teach you things that would make you faster with 0 additional mods to your car.

I whole-heartedly agree about the tires that SBTL was mentioning. I'm still riding on EL-42s, waiting for them to wear out, before I get the Michelin PS2's or the Yoko AVS Sports.
