How to clear out headlights??

I own a 2006 Acura TL, and I've really been wanting to take apart the headlights and clear them out and paint the inside of them black. I also want to take that orange reflector off, but I want to know if I do that, what the best way of going about having them still blink green when using turn signals. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

there are Do It YOURSELVES, all over the forum.
it takes patience.
bake the headlights in the oven to melt the seal.
once the seal is broken, you can pry the two halves apart.
now, this is where you do your custom work, whatever it might be. painting, upgrading lens, whatever.
then use buytl to seal it back up.

I had switchbacks behind the amber diffuser and it looked green when the white was on since it has a bluish hue.

Justin knows...and welcome to the forum.

LOL...and now that I reread it, what he's asking doesn't make sense!

Here is a post Justin put together 3 years ago:
Here are some DIY's I found inside the 3G garage.

These links tell you how to open up your headlights.
its your duty to come up with an idea of what you want to do to your headlights, these are just guides.

so i did it and it was a disaster. i had to open and close the driver headlight twice cuz i kept forgetting to put stuff in or i messed up with fingerprints. then the chrome rubbed off for some damn reason and the paint took way too long to dry. i got silicon all over my body and it wont come off and the headlights arent even lined up. its taken over 9 hours to do it right and it didnt even turn out too good.... if you do this; dont do it alone.

Chrome dipped amber bulbs look good once you clear them. This will maintain the orange parking lights/turn signals you want.
Blends in nicely to the turn signal housing:

Wait so what did you do to make the turn signals blink orange without having the amber reflector on?

^^^Yep, but sadly, not very bright. I've had excellent luck with Amber Plasma LED from amazon. Bright as sh*t and look good off. I do have the clear diffuser though...I wouldn't recommend blacking out the reflector behind that area either...it dims a LOT.

Yeah no comparison to LEDs that's for sure. I only had them in for like 2 weeks before going with switchbacks.

So if I just took the amber reflector off and blacked out the inside of the headlights and put it all back together, what color would the lights be when turning on my blinkers? they would just be a regular white bulb right?

Most ppl either take out the amber diffuser and put nothing in its place, or buy a clear one from USR. Most common mod is to use Switchbacks. They are white when the blinker is off and the parking lights on, and amber when the blinker is on.

Here's a vid just to show you what they look like.

just buy these chief, Depo is a pretty damn good aftermarket brand when it comes to lights, these have clear diffusers baked in already, install and go.

He's probably already done something about it considering this thread is from 2014 but those are a good option look a little better than no diffuser imo but not worth $500 for everyone I guess

I Just realized this was a resurrected thread from someone else posting about the music I'm thinking of jumping on those Depo headlights mainly because my 04 OEM's are starting to get like micro-cracks in the plastic, the clear diffusers is a bonus lol
