How to clean cupholder

How can I take out cupholder plastic piece to clean it? How much of trim do I need to remove?

I wouldn't bother taking out trim pieces just to clean. Just get a small sponge and clean inside there.

Sounds like you need more fiber in your diet.

Ah man that's killing me.

Actuary, sorry the joke is all on you today. My wife always spills her trendy coffee drinks into her car's cup holders (she's not allowed to drink in the TL) and I just let some warm soapy water or Windex soak the "deposit" for a while. Then use your fingers and/or some wipes saturated in more soapy water. Dry with some paper towel. Patience. Let the warm water dissolve whatever is there.

If that doesn't work there is always milk of magnesia. Sorry man

I would avoid taking the console apart. Those trim peices are actually a thin peice of metal over plastic. They Bend very easily.

I concur. Anything not easily seen that can't be cleaned with some mild detergent and warm water isn't worth my time. Plus, if you seem to get recurring "deposits" then once it's clean it will be time for you to do whatever it is that gives you those deposits. Of course, I'll admit, I gave up my OCD on EVERYTHING a looooooooooooooong time ago. Much better person for it today, that's for sure.

I have to contend with this all the time detailing .. go to Wal*Mart and get a pak of the white/blue cheap M/F towels and Mix up some Water & Woolite in a spray bottle
Spray some in the holder and let it sit .. then aggitate with the M/F ..

My web page has some good tips on Woolite use.

I agree, with the soak and wipe method. I also took a neoprene mouse pad and cut discs to fit in the bottom. They do a good job of soaking up drips, and are easily removed and washed, keeping the bottoms of the cupholders clean.

But if it is really bad, we can contact Mike Rowe for an episode of "Dirty Jobs"...

It sounds like you are a dirty boy.

Is M/F a brand of towel or is it like Samuel Jackson's wallet in Pulp Fiction? Its the one that says Bad M/F. And I since I just got my TL last Friday, I don't let anyone else eat/drink in the M/F yet.

I think he means Micro Fiber towels. But if Uma Therman was in my TL, I'd let her drink.
