Dude ran a redlight and I ran into him. What do you think the outcome will be? Fixable or total loss?
Looking for info from other acuraziners that had similar damage. Sorry if some of my post doesn't make sense, my head is still not right after the accident.

im pretty much fuzzy in the brain
the other guy is in worse shape.
the concensus seems to be itll be fixed as the insurance co wouldn't pay for total loss right? i got a feeling itll drive weird after its been fixed.
for example; if the value of the car is only $8k and cost an estimated 13-15k to fix....insurance will total the vehicle.
Burtrat, did you go to the doctor?
and shame on az!!!!the first posts should be , ARE YOU OKAY!?
cars can be replaced or fixed.
Burtrat, I truly hope you are okay.
if you havent been to the hospital, please get checked out

it depends on how much the car is worth.
if the car isnt worth much, and the estimated cost to fix is more than the value of the car, it will be totaled.
you did have full coverage, right?
i do not know until estimate come back, again 80% loss then it is. Glad you're ok and one piece , take some rest and worry your car later. I had big accident before and it took me 2 months to get over with.
Wow man... that's pretty scary for me to look at. I'm really glad your safe and ok. I would imagine that you are very shaken up about it. I know I was when I got myself into a accident....
I really don't know anything about the status of your TL whether it will be fixable or not, but i'm damn glad to see that you are safe and it shows how safe the TL can be...
Do you recall how fast you were going when you hit him? I know your still kinda in the aftershock mode so you might not recall, but I'm just wondering so I can get a general idea...

sounds like concussion symtpoms. take it easy until the symptoms subside and get re-evaluated by the doc. take precautions now. you're gonna hurt and be sore in the morning. overall glad you are in one piece.
your car....unfortunately...i'm leaning towards totaled. it looks really bad and the air bag went off. even if it was fixed won't drive the same. feel better...let the insurance take care of the car.

justnspace - IF the cost is 80% to repair ( in most states) the value of the car then it is totaled. If it is 100% then what is the point of fixing right?

looks like the airbag also came out and the whole front end will need to be replaced if they fix it, so with the experience i have with salvage cars, this should def be a total loss.
hope you're okay.
Unfortunately, it looks totaled to me. Like others have said, i'd look for a new vehicle, even if this is fixable.
On a side note, it's interesting that your sideskirt fell off.

didnt total it.
Everything just depends.
She's totaled, you need a entire new front end, it also looks like driver air bag went off. I see BIG $$ to repair & will hit the 80% value for sure. See a Dr IMMEDIATELY & a LAWYER. Trust me, I was in court for my accident recently and the insurance company lawyer brought this issue up. BTW I lost the case.
Hate to say it, but that looks like a total.
A suggestion for you if you haven't already started the insurance claim process for the collision: Tender it to your OWN carrier rather than the other driver's. You'll likely get paid sooner. You'll be out-of-pocket for your collision deductible initially, but later you'll recover that. What happens is your carrier pays the claim and then "subrogates"; in a nutshell, what that means is that they've paid a claim for which they weren't liable and they then turn around to recover the amount they paid from the person who is liable (the other driver's insurance carrier). When they tender the subrogation claim to the other carrier, they'll include your deductible and any other amounts such as towing expenses or the like.
The reason I suggest you do it this way is two-fold. First, your carrier will likely pay your claim sooner, which means you'll have that money available to help you make a down payment on a new car. Second, in my experience you get better service from your own carrier because you're paying them in the form of premiums. The other driver's insurance carrier wants to minimize the amount they pay out whenever possible (in my experience this is especially true if the carrier is GEICO). Your carrier won't feel the same motivation because ultimately they're not the ones liable for the claim.
A week before I got my TL, the Accord I was then driving was totalled when I got rear-ended and I went through my own carrier. They paid me the remaining value of the car (minus my $250 collision deductible and about $207 for the final payment I owed on the financing) within five days of the crash and I used it as part of the down payment on the TL within a week and a half after the accident. In an earlier crash some five years prior to that, also an incident in which I got rear-ended, I went through the other driver's carrier (GEICO) and I was very dissatisfied with the way they ran the process. (I have State Farm and have always been satisfied with their claims process.)
Regarding the potential injury, see a doctor immediately and talk to an attorney. Don't waste any time because you don't want to take the risk that something else might happen in the interim that might be a "supervening cause" of an injury. (Just as an example: I have NHL season tickets. If I were in a car crash and was suffering symptoms of whiplash but didn't see a doctor, then went to a hockey game and got hit in the head by a puck, I'd have a much harder time proving that the injuries were due to the car accident and not to getting hit by the puck.) The attorney may be able to recommend a doctor. If it does go to litigation, be prepared for the other side to demand that they have a doctor of their choosing conduct a second exam. That's fairly routine and it's a legitimate request.

Go see a doctor. Get yourself checked out asap. concussion could be the least of your problems. any neck/shoulder/back pains? go see a no fault doctor and get treatment. the other guy's insurance will be paying for everything so don't worry about cost. xrays/mri's the works...health > car.
i was in an accident on thanksgiving. My car looks worse than yours and mine was totaled but I'm pretty sure yours is gonna be totaled too. Supposedly each airbag that goes off costs 5k to replace. i'm still going to physical therapy and i went to the hospital. also getting an mri this friday.
good luck and get plenty of rest.

thanks for the support everyone. i really needed it. this is my first accident and things feel surreal at times. im fairly certain i have a concussion though based on the symptoms. I must've forgotten to mention this weird head feeling in the ER or maybe I thought it did, but didn't. Brain is still foggy.
according to the tow/collision repair place, my car is very fixable and not totalled at all. ill get an official say if its repairable or total loss after my insurance people look at it. he highly recommended i repair it there instead of taking the total loss if i were given an option. said id lose more money if it was a total loss. i dont know though. he was pretty damn sure it won't be a total loss from what he saw. the damage would have to exceed like 14-16k in order to get total loss which im starting to think is not going to happen.

I think it may be on the fence whether the car gets totaled or not. It looks like you'll need about 3-4K in parts and a good chunk in labor. I'd say 10K to repair the whole thing. An 07 TL's value is 14K+ so it looks like it may be not be totaled.
A BIG key indicator is the windshield, fenders, roof and doors. Your front end structure received HEAVY damage. The car crumpled to absorb the energy of the impact (as designed) and you can see that the front fenders collapsed onto the door and pushed out the rocker panel from the impact.
That'll take a bunch of work to pull back out and straighten. As well all the misc. damage that we can't see from the one photo.
Either way after an accident like that, I'd want everything repaired back to orignal condition and most shops can't manage to do that. As well it'd be VERY expensive at a shop that could do that. I'd honestly say that I would be concerned with the car if I got it back like that.
