Horrified by scratches under bumper

Had my ABP TL less than 24 hours when I pulled into a parking spot. When I got back to my car, I was horrified that I had scraped the underside of the front bumper on the bumper stop (sorry for my lack of proper nomenclature). Fortunately, the scrape is hard to see, but I was rattled nevertheless. I swore to be more careful. Instead, like an idiot, I did the same exact thing at work today. I have made a couple of observations from this debacle. First, the TL's bumper is much lower to the ground than my 1999 Accord's. Second, the TL is quiet, and masks outside sounds, including it's owner's grinding the bumper over a concrete bumper stop.
Anybody had this experience yet? I am hesitant to have the bumper underside repainted anytime soon, because I am afraid I will just do screw it up again.

Same thing here

The bumper sticks out farther than you think sitting in the drivers seat. I've been intentionally stopping shorter than I "normally" would and when I get out the bumber is positioned perfect. Takes some getting used to.

My old 95 Integra taught me how to park in the spots with that stupid cement block. What is the function of that cement block anyway?

The cement block stops your tires and prevents your car from extending into the parking space in front of you. In my old Accord, I could have heard the scraping while it was happening. The TL, is so quiet, or else the stereo was blasting so loudly, that I could not hear the sound. Just as well, as replaying the scraping sound in my head would have made me ill.

With the type of body kit on my 98 Accord Coupe and the drop, I have about 3-4" of clearance for my car. I learned to estimate distance and even when driving my girlfriend's car/mom/dad/sister's car, I estimate distance between the parking bump/parking curb and the car and usually hit it on the dot within 3 inches.

a bit OT: but I noticed most people with stock cars.. drive so far in and or back so far in with their car.. in like stall parking why is that?

I learned it the hard way with my old cars, the car wasn't even lowered i only had a front lip, and no matter what i do correct there are still some scratch marks under the front lip
