Horn is sticking and staying ON

I just bought a 05 tl and when you hit the horn the horn is sticking. Has anyone had this problem. If you hit the horn it stays depressed and the horn sounds continuously.. You have to bang on it to get it to stop. I will take it to get it fixed by the dealer, but I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this?

I can't remember ever seeing this problem mentioned here. A trip to the dealer would be the thing to do.

Hi Since I bought the car, I think I have only honked the horn twice in 6 months. I do not seem to have that kind of a problem, even though I think the TL horn is very loud and scary....

I have an 05 bought in May and I don't have this problem. Take it to the dealer.

I think that is the point, otherwise they would make horns that play 'ice cream truck music' standard.

There was a message from Honda recently regarding a smiliar problem on Pilots. All dealers were told to NOT attempt a repair until calling a quality assurance phone number in California.

The reason I mention this is I wouldn't be surprised that they will want to be involved in this as well, os make sure you set up with your dealer for alternate transportation & ask them if Honda will be involved on a corporate level.

This happened to me as well.....hit the horn and it stuck....for three min's while I was banging on the steering wheel to get it to stop. Pretty embarasssing scene for any of my neighbors who saw this episode in my driveway. Probably thought I had some agression issues

It only happens to me when I am in the left lane trying to pass a minivan driving 15 mph below the speed limit, while their turn signal is left on, driver chatting on the phone and looking into the rear view mirror with the expression of "why is he flashing those pretty lights at me?"........

That actually happened to me too. I've got a new '05 (about 3 weeks old). I had a lady doing a little sightseeing at 10mph on a road with a 35mph limit. I hit the horn and it stuck . . . I started banging the wheel and it stopped after about 5 seconds. She must have though I was really being a jerk.

It scared me for a split second, I wasn't sure what was going on. I haven't used the horn since. I hope it doesn't turn into a problem.

horn is still sticking

Yeah, I didn't want to hit the horn again, but I decided to and it continues to stick. I guess there is some sort of defect or issue, becuase it is reproducible almost every time I hit the horn. That will make it easier to explain to the dealer

it finally stopped sticking on its own

My horn finally stopped sticking after using it a lot. Maybe the parts were a little stiff or something, but it doesn't stick anymore.

Just beep at every frickin car you get see and eventually it will do just that and wear itself nice and loose. Make sure they are good loud long beeps and really get into it and bang on that thing.

I can't believe for 4 months that you never brought it in to the dealer? I've got to give it to you, you have patience!

It wasn't really 4 months. It happened the first few times I used it but then it stopped. I really didn't want the dealership to f with it, but I was going to have them look at it during the first oil change.. so I haven't had that yet..but now I don't have to even worry about it.
