Talking Holiday Maintenance

Yesterday I was able to get around to changing my squeaky power steering o-rings. I was also able to remove the intake silencer and boat anchor from the front crash bar. Also had a little fun after it was over. Bonus picture from a cruise as well. Happy holidays to all.

Nice, notice any difference in vibrations with the "boat anchor" gone?

Also any info on W4R WGN?

Nothing so far, it was a heavy chunk of metal, that's for sure. I highly doubt it will, but I can always put it back in if I feel the need.
The W4R WGN belongs to a friend of mine, it's a '95 Caprice Wagon with an LT1 5.7L.

i think you'll only notice a difference if you ever get into an accident

The "anchor" is there to help with the drone/vibration that we get around 1500RPMS' in 5th gear, no saftey involvement at all!

Yeah you'll only feel the difference in vibrating while at a red light, most people say.
Myself I don't really see the reason to remove it on a street car, sure you're removing like 10 pounds, but that vibration though... feels like you're driving a beater.

I honestly felt no difference when I removed the damper. There is also a miniature one in the trunk lid.

It rained here today, and I had the wipers on. Noticed a vibration in the brake pedal at lights, possible correlation?
